They were LUCKY to find these, as fate would have it. “ And this one will help you offensively. You’ve retrieved both sides of the coin fortunately. In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen anything of the sort, as far as I’m aware. This one speaks of storms. Though, it should be TESTED first. I’m unsure if we would have to undergo it’s DANGERS as well as our enemy. “ Her head turns towards where she last heard his footsteps. “ It goes without question some of my people should learn these and begin to filter out those of us who are aiding you now. My question is, how much time would you give us? “

     his head moved away from the smaller male before him, taking in the information he just received. Quan Tan, he was a long way from home. a clear frown was written on his rough face, even under that beard it was clear.  ”clearly, yes.”  he answered calmly, giving a soft ‘hmm’ which almost sounded like a growl while he brought his hand behind his neck, giving it a few rubs before lowering it again.  ”these lands… aren’t they free to roam through??”  it sounded like a defence, mainly because the other claimed he was lucky to be in their realm. and who were these serpents, only time would tell.

                     ❝  I’m afraid not. That is, only under certain circumstances.  ❞  Natives may go where they please, with the exception of active war zones–––– but those that do not call Akavir their home ( or Quan Tan specifically, once again depending on circumstance )? Nay, they need CLEARANCE first.  ❝  Under yours, we would need to bring you to our minister of public safety though—— which need not be harrowing at all, if you would be so kind as to cooperate.  ❞  A pause is cautiously taken to peek past the figure towering over him.  ❝  Have you any companions with you, by chance, or do you remain alone?  ❞

                                               Upon hearing the soft ‘pat’ of tomes and paper resting upon her wooden table, Rinzen REACHES out to take one. The silent room fills with the soft crinkling of old pages, dust gently CASCADING down off the cover, a chalky film covering her fingers that she immediately wipes off. It was a skill she had taken much time in learning, the DECIPHERING of text with only touch - each word having it’s special groove in a page, yet it all depended upon those who wrote it. What PRESSURE their pens put the ink to the page, what their personal handwriting had been like. ‘Twas not an EASY task, learning to read this way, just as it was not easy to learn to read it with open eyes. Her patience had been great and paid off IMMENSELY, as shown by her position upon the Counsel. “ If you were looking for defense - this one will be of great use to you. “

                    ❝  I was looking for anything that would give us an edge—- DEFENCE included.  ❞  Indeed, neither he nor his men are too picky when it comes to matters aiding their war effort. The Tsaesci are vicious and unrelenting, thus they should be no less than that in turn. He knows that enchantments could be of great use to achieving that goal.  ❝  Defence in what manner, though? Increased defensive value of the armour, or something to counter the Serpent people’s poison?  ❞  Seung draws nearer again, voice growing a little more quiet with every step. Though he would not call himself familiar with counselor Surat, he knows of her condition. He is not an inconsiderable man, so he takes it into account—— as he should, especially when filing requests like these.  ❝  Or something else altogether that my mind can comprehend, with its lack of understanding of magic?  ❞

— COUNSELOR SURAT.

                                          What was once INDIFFERENCE became interest as she heard the word ‘new’. A WEAKNESS of hers, as it has always been, to discover things which others haven’t. To be the FIRST to touch, to utter words, to speak truths no one had known existed. A familiar fire that hadn’t breathed in some time flared within her soul, shown by a STRAIGHTENING of her shoulders and a now attentive nature. Even Chet, sitting in the corner of the fire lit room ruffled his feathers in response. “ Then I ASSUME you came here with the scrolls and tomes in hand. “ Her hand gently tapped the table surface next to her as an indication for him to set them down there. “ I’ll need a few days to study them, but if you want my IMMEDIATE thoughts, you need only wait a few minutes. “

                        Although her COMPOSURE remains steely as ever, Seung is quite certain he just stirred to life a spirit of interest in her. The two tomes and complementary scrolls he conjures by drawing both hands from behind his back where he had held them thus far, thereafter placing them on the table upon approach.  ❝  Then take these minutes. I will wait patiently.  ❞  Patience is indeed one of his most prominent features, so both hands return to the small of his back and he wanders toward a nearby ... set of whatever it is ( artefacts, perhaps? ) to idly look at.

     “aye, indeed. as if THE GODS them self where at work.”  he answered, while he let his arms cross before his chest and think his options through. as long as these soldiers were giving him no harm he wouldn’t give it in return. “none.”  and he TRULY didn’t. the land seemed, for the most, like tamriel. but there were some rare things he had seen, which he had never seen in his own homeland.

                       HARMLESS though this man may act, the fact remains that law requires his arrest for safety purposes––––– and something tells Seung that this one will not cooperate when that fact is revealed.  ❝  You are on the continent of Akavir,  ❞  renowned to have a tumultuous past with Tamriel at best,  ❝  in the realm of Quan Tan, more specifically—— and you are lucky for it.  Better here than the serpent territories.  ❞

— ZHIQIANG.

          THERE  IS  NO  SHAME  in  such  a  duel  for  Zhiqiang.  Not  if  he  emerges  victorious,  at  least.  He  has  not  fought  the  General  thus  far  and  does  not  know  his  moves  well,  which  makes  it  all  the  more  challenging.  The  attack  comes  not  as  a  surprise,  though,  and  he  steps  back  and  draws  up  his  blade  quickly,  deflecting  the  blow.  He’s  warming  up  still  and  thus  does  not  attack  in  return  but  stabilises  his  stance  and  waits  for  a  second  blow,  eyes  fixed  on  those  of  his  opponent  and  a  half-smile  splitting  his  lips.

          Head tips back as Seung makes his attempt to read his opponent–––– yet he remains idle. The general would strike again ( and again and again ) had he any wish to tire himself out quickly, great as his stamina may be. Considering that is not the case, he smoothly sidesteps and lets his katana follow in its naturally slicing motion along the height of Zhiqiang’s middle.  ❝  –––– You are looking very pretty with that smile of yours, but when will you show me your teeth?  ❞
