the thing is that dick drops the ball sometimes. he's busy, he's really stupidly busy, and that means that he misses things. pile that on top of the fact that he also stupid frequently just forgets things, and it's a recipe for disaster more than it isn't.

but he's remembered this, which he hopes makes up for the last...fifteen things he forgot. he grins at steph over the sparkler, eyes bright and warm. ❛ well, it's fruity and way too overpriced, so it feels like it's an appropriate greeting. ❜ he sits back a little, and then reaches into his pocket to pull out a small wrapped box. ❛ also this! happy birthday kiddo. ❜
