"i was planning to do the cat ears," he says, laughing and he thinks it might've been obvious since he had suggested the puppy ears for noel. he's not quite sure if the company will be choosing representative animals for the vybe members or not, but he thinks it's kinda fun to just do things like this ahead of time. he's not the type for the puppy ears though, or at least, he doesn't think so. maybe the fans think otherwise but he guesses they'll see eventually.

he wonders if fan translators online have chosen specific emoticons for them yet. maybe he should look it up later.

"but i haven't really confirmed it yet ... i was gonna see what i felt like doing in the moment," haneul says after a thought, shrugging a little. "i preplanned originally but i found that i would just forget when the performance was over," he says, sighing a little. "so i just have vague ideas and i decide when the camera point towards me."

"i think they're both fine," he says, shrugging a little and he's never really pre-planned his ending fairies but maybe it's something he should start doing. they've been promoting for a little bit now and he thinks their new song is a fun one to perform and he hopes that the fans are also enjoying it. he thinks for a moment, remembering the poses that noel had done and he lets out a hum. "the puppy dog ears are probably something you could add to the first pose?" haneul suggests, never one to back away from doing too much because when would they ever have the chance to do so again aside from their early days when people would just brush it aside as rookie things. "i think you should do more than just smile though, for sure."

noel is honestly happy he didn’t debut as a solo artist. the nervousness he had in him slowly fades as he talks with haneul, the other being a great distraction. having had the vybe members join him on this journey of being a new idol has been nice, they’re learning together, and helping each other learn. they’re there when he needs them, whether it’s with singing practice or simply what ending fairy pose he should do.

“i honestly feel a bit stupid doing the puppy pose, but i think the fans would like it” he shrugs. “it still feels weird, but what i know from the fansigns, they enjoy when i act cute… don’t particularly like acting cute, but i guess for them i will?” he hums. “i’ll add the puppy ears to my puppy eyes” he nods strongly. “you? decided what pose you’re gonna do? or will you just figure it out in the moment?”.

for some reason, noel couldn’t help but remain nervous whenever they were backstage for music shows. he figured when they debuted he was so nervous because it all was new, now he had tried it and was still nervous. he couldn’t understand why, why he fiddled with the end of his shirt, why his heart beat a little faster. he was enjoying being an idol though, and he figured, eventually he wouldn’t be nervous before going out to perform on music shows.

noel is sitting fiddling with his shirt before noticing haneul ( @behaneul ) is sitting alone, and then he finds himself walking over to the other. “haneul, wanna help me out?” he asks before sitting down next to the other. “i was thinking of what pose to do for the ending fairy” he adds, “so far i have two ideas”. “first one is this” he says before pouting his lips and giving puppy eyes “second one is this” he says before simply smiling. “is the first one too much? is the second one too little?”.

he's not sure if it's because they were taking more selfies to post together or just because they've been mentioning the 01 line more often in things, but haneul is not complaining about getting to do more things with luciel. it's pretty fun, all in all, and he loves all his members but they got close when they were leaders together and they've only gotten closer since debut.

they had practiced together too, and he had enjoyed working with luciel. it probably has nothing to do with them being the same age, but he likes to think that maybe there was something in the 01 line waters. or something like that.

"hwaiting!" he answers easily, voice soft as to not be picked up by the microphones and wanting to show that he was ready too. he's sure some of the fans are watching them, even if they're mostly paying attention to the park bogum introducing them.

he nods when luciel speaks, straightening up a little in his spot. "we prepared our rendition of 'lucky to be loved' for everyone," he continues easily, since they had rehearsed all the lines ahead of time.

perhaps their pleas were heard: vybe is getting more ‘01 liner content! luciel wonders if making those hints about getting more 01 content would make the fans happy, or if it’s a coincidence — in any case, him and haneul were going to showcase ‘lucky to be loved’ together. this would be their first time showcasing a song as a duo. naturally, they practiced together for this, making sure things flow smoothly for the both of them. but since it’s already a song they’ve been learning for a while, it didn’t take too long.

after their group showcases, and then then the individual ones, their turn was next. after that it’s another group song to end the show. there’s some talking segments in between but it’s a relatively simple list. before their turn, luciel nudges haneul, whispering, “hwaiting?” not forgetting he’s still in front of an audience, he keeps up his smile, clapping along with the rest of the crowd when siwoo’s turn ends.

when the host of the show asks them if they had anything they wanted to show, that’s their cue. luciel picks up his mic, nodding his head, “that’s right. not just on my own, but with haneul too.” he turns to the other boy, waiting for him to say his next lines.

FILMING in which haneul is filming the comeback mv

filming the new music video for their upcoming comeback is not as novel a feeling as it was filming the debut music video, but it does bring back almost all the same emotions that the latter evoked originally. he's a little less nervous this time, a little less worried about audience reactions, but still just as excited nonetheless.

the song is good too, and despite his thoughts about perhaps liking the b-track a little more than the title, haneul is pretty happy with vybe's songs and, ahem, vibe so far. at least he won't have to pretend to like their songs, as he knows some groups used to. and maybe still do? he's not sure, he hasn't been keeping up with that many kpop groups since he started training. maybe things are different now. who knows.

either way, filming the music video is always fun, especially since he's been getting closer with the members (outside of the two he had been friends with from pre-vybe days) so it just kinda feels like they're all just hanging out and being filmed while doing it.

so it's all pretty fun, and the music video is going to be nice from what he can tell without seeing the final product. at least the song is fun, so hopefully the fans will like it for their first comeback with the group.

he knows that the fans are aware that he and seojun have been friends for a long time, so he doesn't really think twice when it comes to acting a little closer to seojun than the other members. of course, he still tries his best to interact with everyone but it's just a little different when it comes to his best friend. he's sure everyone understands. hopefully.

either way, he's been enjoying monitoring the other vybe members' photoshoots even if he hasn't been as actively commenting on them.

"i meaaaaaaan, i won't say no," haneul says playfully, though he's already always around everyone else when they're doing their solo shoots. it's just fun to see what the other members do and try to adapt things he doesn't already do to his own photoshoots.

he points at the previews on the screen, holding out the water bottle he had grabbed for seojun to him. "look though!" he says, asking the director to flip between the two pictures that they were looking at. "see? your jawline looks better at this angle, right?"

something about shooting pictures for their teasers seems to be coming to him much more easily now. sure he knew that he'd get better as they had more comebacks and did different shoots but he was proud of himself at the moment. plus those anxious feelings he had in the beginning have settled down as he got used to this all

he's sure the fans will enjoy this. he already can't wait for the reactions

when he hasn't been getting his own photos taken, he's definitely kept an eye on the other members to see how they are doing. maybe it's because he's the oldest but he enjoys keeping tabs on everyone in some way. it eases his mind plus he does love seeing how well each photo has come out

when doing his own he makes sure to pose as he told but upon hearing hanuel speak, he has to hold back laughing. he does as the other requests, holding back the smile that wants to show on his lips. he knows he lets his best friend get away with anything so this wasn't any different to him. if anything he was amused the whole time.

looking towards haneul, he smiles and nods. "yeah? you think so? maybe you gotta be around me when it comes to other shoots as well." he feels his face burn a bit but ignores it.

he also moves to stand facing the mirror, glad that he had waited to come back to their waiting room before he had asked to take the pictures together. he hadn't even thought about freshening up a little before taking the pictures so he's glad that luciel had done so for him to follow suit.

quietly reaching up to fix his hair a little, adjusting his bangs so they'll look optimal in their selca(s) together, haneul grins at his friend and grabs some tissues to blot the sweat off of his forehead. "we have to! i haven't checked online to see what's popular within the group but i personally think we need to push the 01 line more," he says with mock seriousness, nodding grimly.

"i think they should?" he says, unsure actually because he hasn't really been keeping track of what has been posted and what hasn't so far. he probably should check online and see if their fans are happy with the content they've been given so far.

either way, it would be good content to be posted at some point in time, even if it's not right away. he shifts, getting his phone and then moving to stand next to luciel, immediately throwing up a peace sign once he's turned the front camera on, letting the other vybe member pose before snapping the first picture.

“oh? sure~” luciel answers as he quickly gulps down some water, to stay hydrated after the stage on busan asia one festival. their stages has slowly been getting bigger, and so has their audiences. these are sights that he would never have thought he would be seeing. he wonders about their own concert one day, with a crowd filled with vybe fans.

he takes one look in the mirror, fixing his hair if there was any strange loose hairs flying around and checking if his makeup still looks decent after all that sweat — which yes, it still looked good. thanks to the makeup professionals for that! “that’s true~ let’s show off 01 line more,” luciel says with a laugh. “i wonder if they’ll actually post it later…? otherwise i’ll convince our manager a lot.” it’s not all the time the pictures gets posted.

luciel wonders what kind of pose should he be doing. maybe a thumbs-up for an ‘otsukare!’ kind of thing? it’s not too old-fashioned, right? or so he thinks.

"yeah it's been ages," he agrees, plopping down next to his friend and he sighs contentedly, feeling pretty happy about the show they're filming. he's not sure where they're going from what they've filmed so far, but he thinks their fans will probably enjoy it no matter what they do. hopefully, at least.

"maybe the next time we have some time off, we can rally the other members and all do a trip to lotte world under cover," haneul suggests, though he's mostly joking. he's pretty sure they would need to get permission from the company, or at least from their managers for that sort of outing and he's not sure if they would be allowed to.

they're not too well known just yet, so maybe they could get away with it if they went with supervision? he's not sure. he files that thought away from another day though.

hearing the word 'selfies' has him perking up and fixing his posture immediately, having been somewhat slumped in his spot. "of course! we have to commemorate all the things we've been doing right? this will be in a vault someday, probably." he grins, shifting to pose for the camera.

being in school uniforms again is something he hadn't expected to be doing after he had graduated high school, though haneul guesses he should've expected it considering how many shows have that sort of concept. and also how the fans always eat it up. he might've spent too much time monitoring online, looking at what fans said and how they reacted to things. also, lurking the fanartist tags and seeing what people wanted from them. school uniforms was relatively high on the list, of things they could do without too many special effects or makeup needed. and who didn't love a high school au?

when they're given a break from the filming, haneul grabs two banana milks and offers one to noel whom he finds resting a little. he pokes the straw through the foil lid and takes a long sip, letting out a loud, satisfied sound. one probably related more to drinking a shot of soju or a long sip of beer than banana milk. but that's neither here nor there. "this feels really nostalgic," he comments, looking pleased with the familiar taste of banana milk. "i never thought i would be in my twenties, drinking banana milk in a school uniform but i understand why people do it now," he says, trailing off in amusement. "for some reason wearing the uniform makes me want to go to an amusement park."

it’d honestly initially felt a bit weird to put on a school uniform, noel hadn’t worn one for ages. he saw some fanart online of vybe drawn with high school uniforms, so he’s saying ‘congratulations’ in his mind to that specific fan. noel usually isn’t the selfie type, but after putting the school uniform he’s taken a million selfies, from every angle and even a couple of mirror selfies.

he’s sitting down as he’s scrolling through his camera roll, admiring the selfies, which does make him feel like he’s obsessed with himself, and he swears he’s not, it’s just so rarely he ever wants to take selfies. 

he looks up when haneul approaches, turning off his phone and happily accepting the banana milk. “it sure does” he nods before taking a sip “besides for kian it’s been ages for majority of us to have last worn school uniforms”. “i also haven’t been to an amusement park in ages”.

“ah! haneul! would you mind taking some selfies with me?” and the selfies never end “i know we don’t have anywhere to post them at the moment, but hopefully vybe will get an instagram account some day, and even if not, i can look back at these pictures and remember these moments”.

being able to perform at prestigious events like the busan asia one festival is something that he had never really imagined he would be able to do. perhaps it's because his dreams had been shattered a few years earlier from his old company dissolving, but it's something that hadn't even been on his dreams list when he had been thinking about how he wanted his career to go in the future.

but this feels different. the cheers of the fans when they step onto the stage, and hearing the fanchants as they perform their debut song is such a crazy experience that haneul wishes they could do this more.

maybe one day they would be able to hold their own concert in a big stadium like this.

"let's take a selfie together," haneul says, finding luciel backstage once they've finished performing.

"we need to promote the 01 line more," he adds, grinning once he's gotten his phone from their manager. "and fans love getting backstage stuff, especially if they recognize our outfits from the performance!"

shooting the pictures for the teasers are fun though, and haneul thinks he's getting better at posing for the camera. he wonders if one day down the line, he'll look back at these pictures and cringe at how awkward he looks in them. for now though, he's proud of his growth in just one comeback.

hopefully his fans, and vybe's fans, will agree.

he's been enjoying monitoring his member's pictures too, too nosy not to. he finds himself beside the photographer and looking at the pictures that have been taken on the screen, making gentle comments and trying not to be too invasive when it comes to the others since he doesn't want to overstep at all.

but of course, seojun is a different story. "oooo, you look really good but i think you should turn your face slightly more, tilt it down?" he calls out, amused that the photographer and director of their teaser shoot is letting him do this. or maybe it's because seojun isn't telling him no or acting annoyed.

when his best friend is taking a break to get his makeup touched up and also to monitor the pictures already taken, haneul is quick to be by his side. "see? that angle makes your face look really handsome!"

there's something about a comeback so soon after they debut that makes haneul excited. maybe it's the fact that there's apparently enough demand for them to comeback right away, but he also understands that it's to make sure they're still relevant.

"this song is nice," haneul says, nudging siwoo, who's sitting next to him as they wait their turns to do the recording. he's listened to the guide track enough times that he's pretty sure that he has it fully memorized already, and he's excited to hear how it will sound with their voices instead of the guide.

he can't wait, actually.

he stretches his arms and legs out in front of him, letting out a soft sound of satisfaction when his body reacts the way that he had been hoping it would when he had done it. "i think it's a good first comeback song ... i hope our fans like it."

THE OTHER SIDE in which haneul attends a fansign

at what point does this all stop feeling like a dream?

he's been to a fansign before, but he had always been on the side of being the fan. he's never been the one who had fans. and it's genuinely so surreal that he doesn't really know how to process it still.

it kind of feels like he's just going through the motions but he's been having a lot of fun interacting with vybe's new fans, even when they're not his fans. he truly understands now, how every person can like a different member and he's always honoured whenever he sees that people are holding pickets of his face or holding signs with his name on it.

he tries his best to remember his fans, if not by name at least by their face. it's not as hard as he thought it would be, considering that their more dedicated fans have been coming to multiple fansigns. honestly, as someone who's been to a fansign before, he really admires how they're spending so much money to be able to do this.

truly, haneul is honoured.

so he does his best to give the fans good interactions, things that will make them want to come back. little things that they can post online if they wanted, like finger hearts, cheek hearts, winks and other things that aren't too hard to do but he knows that if he was on the receiving end, he would also be fangirling.

it's fun and he can't wait to do this for the rest of his life.
