She was close to cursing the barkeep in front of her when she heard a specific voice call out from her side. Frozen while her drink was filled, Bella cautioned a look to her right, and a few seats down from her was, in fact, exactly who she thought it was. Her lips curled instinctively, and she briefly wondered if it would be worth the stint in Azkaban to take down her former sister in public.
“Andromeda,” she spoke lowly, voice devoid of any emotion at all. Her former ire at the man behind the counter had shifted, and Bellatrix saw red. “If I’m remembering correctly, you quite liked ordering our family elves around. Remember how we started calling Mipsy everything except her name? Skedaddle was my personal favorite. I can’t quite remember,” she trailed off calmly, “was it you who came up with that one?” Pretending to ponder for a moment, she shifted on her stool, now facing the woman whose face she’d imagine during dueling practices. “But I suppose you’ve had to learn to rough it.” Shrugging with faux innocence, her eyes remained firm, “Being the wife of a poor mudblood and all.” Attributing those words to her younger sister burned her throat, and her nostrils flared with another wave of rage. “You come in here,” she moved off her stool and sat on the closest to the other woman, drink held to her chest, “and you dare to speak to me.” Her eyes searched Andromeda’s for a long moment, and she couldn’t help the thought that others might be watching their exchange. Let them. “As if you’re still my equal?” Clutching her glass tighter, she moved even closer, hoping the invasion of space would make her uncomfortable. “Did you think I’d hug you?” She mocked, though her own inner turmoil continued. “Maybe fall to my knees and ask you back into my life?” Blinking, she smirked. “Offer to babysit your half-blood brat?”
It was a rare opportunity when Andromeda was able to get out of work at St. Mungos early. In terms of how things had gone recently, things had actually been quiet. At the hospital they were appreciating the respite as best they could, knowing it wouldn't last long. They'd been able to focus more time on those patients who were there on a more long term care. To work on restocking supplies and potions that were important to their every day work. It felt like finally getting to take a moment to breathe. When she'd been told she could slip away early she'd been glad to.
She'd decided to make a stop at Pillwinkle's in Horizont Alley, deciding it would be nice to bring home a new toy for Dora. She'd debated far longer than she'd intended before settling on two new toys. Afterwards she had decided to stop for a drink before heading home. Once inside she paused as she spotted a familiar mane of hair at the bar, and no sooner did she hear that familiar voice. The smart choice would have been to go home, or find somewhere else to stop for a drink. But she had never been one to cower away, regardless if the mere sight of her would be enough to anger her sister.
She sidled up to the bar and took a seat, quiet as she listened to her sister berate the poor bartender. "Leave the poor man alone Bellatrix. Not everyone has an army of house elves they can order about to clean up every little mess like you." Was it necessary for her first comment to her sister to be a rude one? No, but she couldn't help it. As the bartender turned his attention to her she smiled and asked for an elder flower wine.

If Bellatrix ever needed another owl, her house elves were the ones who would make the trip. The last time she would've been inside of the Magical Menagerie was right before her sixth year at Hogwarts—with both sisters by her side as the three of them purchased new familiars.
So when she left Knockturn Alley and entered Diagon Alley, she had no intention of ending up where she currently was. Merlin, she hadn't even wanted to go into Diagon Alley at all, but she'd seen a familiar blond head in the crowd, and she'd followed closely behind him. How ironic that the last time she'd been in the shop was with her sister—her blood traitor sister who'd been tricked by the mudblood in front of her. An ugly heat began churning in her stomach, and Bella instinctively wrapped her fingers around her wand handle, the pressure turning them an even paler white. As he conversed with the clerk, in a manner that felt as if he belonged there, Bellatrix managed to keep her snarling to a minimum as she nonchalantly walked closer to the counter.
Watching him hold up the Kneazle, she couldn't hold in her words any longer. "Might I suggest a Crup?" She asked with false positivity, gesturing to the kennel of fork-tailed terriers to the right. "You could even bring it to visit your parents." She could feel her eyes flash as she met his gaze, and if he hadn't known who she was before, he would now. Bellatrix and Andromeda hadn't so often been mistaken as twins for no reason.

Where: The Magical Menagerie
Open to: Everyone!
Ted searched high and low finding a Kneazle akin to the on Dora kept shifting her face into at night. “This one poppa!” She’d told him for the past week. The clerk informed him there would be another litter coming in soon, and that he could readily shoot for one in that image then. Sighing, he did pick up a small one with an almost Siamese pattern to it. “I figure it’s a good pet for her to have. So that if someone mistrustful does in-fact come near her, she’ll be able to sense it. Unfortunately, she’s definitely inherited the lack of stranger danger I had as a child.” He offer, biting his lip. “Maybe I’ll just bring her in… it’s fair she gets a say, yeah?”

“Hm, well,” she drawled lazily, watching with heavy-lidded eyes as Rodolphus sat beside her. “Our house elves work with more urgency,” she defended weakly, a smirk forming on her lips. “Though I suppose my wand work might have something to do with that.” She snorted, bringing her new drink back to her lips, emptying its contents in one long swig. With a loud slam of the glass on the counter, she refused to break her stare from the barkeep, who’d only just walked away. “Are you always this slow, or are you trying to push me?” She called out to him when he didn’t immediately refill her glass. When he fumbled his way back to her side of the bar, he kept his head down, brow furrowed in concentration. “I’d recommend hurrying before I start hexing things for fun in here.” Wordlessly, he filled her drink again, and Bellatrix nursed it, finally getting a good look at her husband.
“Sorry, love,” she breathed, patting him affectionately on his thigh. “Was only keeping the filthy half-blood in his place,” she explained with a wink. “You should catch up.” Nodding, she sipped her drink, albeit much more leisurely. “And I should slow down.”
Rodolphus knew his wife. He knew her inclinations. She preferred daytime missions as opposed to his like for the night. Each had their own benefits. He understood her stance completely. There was nothing like seeing the pain and life being drawn from an opponent's eyes, that was for certain. But there was something about being in the shadows and attacking without anyone knowing where it came from. Not seeing who it was and being completely off guard. Their fear of what was happening in the darkness. Them unable to see what was coming next. And the moonlight caressing their bodies was exhilarating. He would whisper threats in their ear of what to look out for next time they tried walking the streets; that he would get them worse next time. Bellatrix was the yin to his yang. Their missions together were always thrilling, whether the sun or moon was out.
He loved his wife in the only way he knew how. And it came primarily from the dedication they shared with the Dark Lord. He was His right hand and she was His left. They were the ultimate power couple. No one was closer to the Dark Lord than they. It's how they were reared. They were both made to be weapons and weapons they were. This particular evening was to be a mission together. He was pleased. Working with her always gave him pleasure.
Rodolphus was looking for his beloved and found her in the Fountain of Fair Fourtune drinking and causing trouble. A smile lurked on his lips as he approached. "My wife," he said, sitting beside her. "Tormenting the staff, I see. I would expect nothing less." When the barback brought Bellatrix her drink, he ordered a scotch neat. His drink. "It's a good thing we have charms to make us sober for this evening," he said taking a long sip of his drink. "I have to catch up."

“A foul mood?” Bella questioned genuinely, a smug smile overtaking her lips as Alecto sat beside her. “And here I thought I was particularly peachy today.” She hummed, taking another sip of her drink. “Pity.”
Setting her glass on the counter, she took another look at Alecto, and Bellatrix rolled her eyes halfheartedly. “Do catch up then, won’t you? After all, we won’t be in this hovel long.” She spoke the last part with emphasis, shooting a glare at the barkeep only a few feet from them. “It should be a remarkable night.” Her eyebrows raised meaningful, knowing her message would be getting across to her mentee.
Alecto had the summer to herself, a blessing in its own, which allowed her to help a little more with Narcissa's wedding, when neither of the mothers were dipping their hands in greedily. It also allowed her to be more readily available for missions that might require her service.
The petite witch stepped into the bar, knowing a specific Lestrange would be waiting for her, coming to seat down beside one of her closest friends, her mentor. "Do I wish to know what has you in a foul mood?" The corner of her mouth twitches into a smirk. "Already starting without me. Tsk."

where: the fountain of fair fortune, horizont alley when: midday who: open
Contrary to popular belief, Bellatrix didn't prefer nighttime. Sure, it allowed for more discretion, and it typically was the reason her activities went off without a hitch. Yet there was very little as thrilling to her as watching her victim's facial expressions. To trace their bulging eyes with her own, or to laugh alongside their slack-jawed screams were the impetus as to why Bella did what she did. She thoroughly enjoyed her work, but it was heightened when she had such visceral engagement. Frankly, it was too difficult to embrace a Mudblood's ticks by moonlight alone.
Though it was still midday, she wasn't able to progress in her current mission until later that evening. She had direct orders from the Dark Lord himself to wait. Even if her personal interests differed, she would remain loyal, which is how she found herself in her current predicament. Nursing a Dragon Scale beer, leaning back in her barstool precariously, and waiting for dusk to fall.
"You." She pointed at the bartender, who was diligently scrubbing the countertop with seemingly futile effort. "You're not getting anywhere at that." Her heavy-lidded eyes narrowed with disdain. "Are we trying to create abstract art here, or are you simply incapable of cleaning charms?" With a dramatic flourish towards the stained counter, she lifted her half-empty glass. "I'll take another drink, if you're capable of that much."
