It's the first day of Durga Puja and I just heard about a game exploring Indian religious stories and culture!

Raji: An Ancient Epic is an action-adventure game set in ancient India. A young girl named Raji has been chosen by the gods to stand against the demonic invasion of the human realm. Her destiny? To rescue her younger brother and face the demon lord Mahabalasura.

To date, Raji: An Ancient Epic has won numerous awards including Best Game Design at Dev Play 2019. Raji also went on to win Best of Show and Best Visuals.

The game takes inspiration from tales such as the Mahabharata and Ramayana. Graphically, the game is designed in the style of Pahari paintings, and the in-game architecture is modeled after that of medieval Rajasthan.

Talking about the distinctive Indian feel of the game and how it was achieved, Avichal Singh, the game designer, says, “The forts of Rajasthan played a major role in the design of the world, we knew we had to take it to the world. The initial response even on social media has been quite encouraging.”

Avichal continues: “Raji is blessed by the gods in the game and has access to different weapons. We’re also adding a power system as well as a Favour of the Gods feature which basically means Raji will get different powers depending on which gods she chooses to favour,” Avichal explains, “The combat will have a weight to it depending on the weapon you’re using. In the early screenshots, you can see Raji use a Trishul, but there will be more weapons as you progress.”

The brisk cool air fights its way through every crevice in your two-sizes-too-big olive green overcoat as you desperately attempt to walk faster towards the movie theater. Your shoulders are hunched so high they’re almost touching your ears as you try to maintain your body heat. Who’s wise idea was it to make any plans that involved stepping outside in late winter? You just hope the movie theater lobby is warm.

The sun has long since laid to rest upon the horizon and, finally, you’re standing under the cheap yellow lights that display the current showings. The line isn’t too long, thank goodness, so you’ll only have to stand outside just a little bit longer before you can get the feeling back in your fingertips and nose.

As you wait in line, you can’t help but feel awkward standing there alone, the people around you freely chatting with their family members and friends or their dates. It shouldn’t worry you too much, you know that deep down, but standing alone in a crowd of people has always left you feeling out of place. Thankfully, your friends shouldn’t be too long now. 

Ten minutes go by and it’s finally your turn to purchase a ticket at the booth. Before approaching the teller, you take one last hopeful look behind you, but all you see are unfamiliar faces.

So do you remember when jk first released his original song? I could only catch one line and it was “you’re good at everything you’re just perfect” and I guessed that he was talking about himself. I looked at a proper lyric video and it’s confirmed he definitely is talking about himself. The song is called decalcomania, decalcomania is the technique when and engraving is transferred to another material, a “decal”. So basically what he’s saying is he feels like he’s never been that version of himself, the “perfect” one smiling on the screen. He wants to “be your decalcomania” he wants to become that “perfect” him that he feels is not him. 

How does he always do this to me? I was literally just thinking yesterday about how younger me was seen as “perfect” and not being able to live up to even my past self, how it really hurts. I kinda feel like crying right now, I’m so thankful someone else understands, I’m so thankful he understands. You know what I just thought? 

I think the reason Jungkook is my bias, the reason I love him so much is that he is so much like me. I see so much of myself in him. I relate to him so much because of that, we go through similar situations because we ARE similar. Ok, that sounds kind of narcissistic but I don’t love him because he reminds me of myself. I love that because he is like me, he understands me. You know when someone voices something you felt but didn’t really express or think about? It’s a great feeling, Jungkook always manages to make me feel that way. He makes me feel supported and like I’m not alone in the way I feel. I love him.

Dear Jin

You were my first ever bias when I knew no other member. I would even go as far as to say I don’t think I would have become an ARMY if it weren’t for you. Watching your goofiness and all your jokes led me down a rabbit hole of content. While everything around me seemed to be spiraling, coming home to see your smiling face made everything feel better. 

I would say we have very similar personalities and outlooks on life. Today after seeing you in Bon Voyage I told my friend I would probably be like that when I am your age as well. That got me thinking. If when I become a proper adult I can be such a kind and caring person like you, I would be very happy.

I’ve always admired your love for your members, as well as your love for your fans. I think anyone would be lucky to have such a thoughtful person in their lives. Aside from that, I admire how you always seem to speak your mind and aren’t afraid to put others in their place. I hope to learn from you. You don’t often allow others to force you to do anything you don’t want to, you operate on your own terms.

More than anything else, I admire your hard work and dedication. Most people might not have chosen a completely new career path without much prior experience. Even though your efforts weren’t immediately or widely recognized, even though you are already extremely talented, you never falter and continue to work hard. I think that is my favorite thing about you, even if it’s not the most noticeable.

If I can become in any way like the incredible person you are, it would be the greatest compliment. Today on your 27th birthday, I just had to express how much you mean to me. I will always hold a special place in my heart for you, the kind, big-hearted soul you are. I’ll always love you. Anyways, happy birthday Jin! I wish you all the love and happiness in the world 💜
