Steve Rogers who is fair to everyone: wants all villains he fights against to have fair trials, who can easily forgive Bucky, when he lashes out, and forgives Nat for spying on him and keeping important secrets.

Steve Rogers who doesn't know why with Tony he always finds a bone to pick, why they have fundamental debates over breakfast, even though they want the same thing.

Steve Rogers who slowly realises that he will always put Tony on a higher pedestal than anyone else, expecting the most from him, expecting him to be better, because he is in love with him.

Steve Rogers is so deeply, obsessively, unconditionally in love with Tony Stark, that it frustrates him to his bones when he is self destructive or mean, because Steve knows he could be better. And it's unfair to Tony and he knows it.

So Steve Rogers is not fair to everyone, because the one person he loves and trusts the most will always have to live up to his unrealistic expectations, whereas everyone else is allowed to fuck up.
