Indefinite Hiatus

Hello passengers, I hope you're doing well.

You may have noticed the lack of production updates, or the drop of our presence in general. I'd like to first apologize for not sharing our troubles sooner.

Work on the podcast has been extremely slow, especially since we've lost contact with our writer and one of our VAs. The project has essentially been left up to Devyn and I to continue on our own, but neither of us are script writers. Unfortunately, this means that the podcast is being put on hold indefinitely.

Beyond Repair holds a special place in our hearts, and the podcast is always spinning in the the back of our minds. We'd love to continue producing it, but in order to do that we'd have to replace much of our team.

We're looking into the appropriate next steps as we try to keep production efforts going. With hope, we'll see the end to this story so dear to our hearts.

Thank you for your patience, passengers. May the stars guide us to better days.

The AuDIAs 2025

The Audio Drama Indie Awards is a fan-run award show designed to help highlight Hidden Gems in audio drama - the new, the undiscovered, and the underpraised. Submissions will be curated by volunteer judges, and winners will be chosen by popular vote among selected finalists.

Submissions to nominate a show for consideration are open right now, and can be found here. Listeners and creators alike are welcome to submit shows for nomination, whether it's your own show or someone else's. Please note that, depending on the number of shows submitted, some categories may be closed earlier as needed. For more information regarding the nomination categories and submission guidelines, please see our website.

Once the nomination period ends, review teams will listen to the pilot episode of each show and determine category finalists together, which will then be decided by community voting! If you'd like to help judge the awards, please submit the Review Team application here. The awards will be hosted through the Podcast Book Club Discord server, so if you'd like to get involved or just follow along, be sure to join us here. We can't wait to check out your shows very soon!

Okay you know what, I do have another thing to add about audio fiction and how important it is, especially now. You know, during *gestures broadly around*

The thing about audio fiction is that they can't take it down.

Books can be pulled off the store shelves and publishers can flat-out refuse to give space to new ones that don't fit their side of the current political climate. Video streaming services can and already have gone even further by entirely scrubbing media they don't like from the only places that had rights to distribute them -- if not for piracy, shows like Infinity Train would be gone gone. I expect we will see much more of this type of behavior in coming years.

With audio fiction podcasting, the default is a decentralized, self-published, free to access platform. They can't very well take down a whole hosting service, and any show they go after can just be re-uploaded under a new RSS feed. (If you're a creator, please look into the basic principles of self-hosting, just in case.) Although we probably won't need to take any of those measures, because since there's no money that capitalists can extract from this art form,

They don't even know we exist. Be as queer as you want. Be as progressive and inclusive as you want. Be as anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-racist, anti-fascist as you want. Tell stories that are important, that people with power wouldn't want you to tell. They won't find us, not here.

2025 Podcast Jam

The Podcast Jam is BACK for 2025! If you're unfamiliar, the PodJam is an event running from February to May in which teams of editors, writors, and actors collaborate to create the pilot episode of a new audio drama.

A handful of things have been updated following last year's jam, particularly with the timeframe: the creation period has been extended to a "Jam Month", so teams will now spend roughly a week in each phase of production - writing, voice acting, & editing. Here's the schedule:

Sign-ups: January 31st - March 23rd

Team Submission Form Deadline: March 30th

Team Announcements: April 5th

Final Project Withdraw Date: April 20th

Jam Month: April 7th - May 4th

Episode Submission: May 5th

Public Episode Release: May 24th

Jam Closing Ceremony: May 31st
