i know a lot of people like to portray dedede’s rivalry with kirby as having always been one-sided but personally i like the idea that kirby takes it just as seriously as dedede does. they are literally best frenemies forever

In a way, they are. The Hero: The mascot, the main man, this one's the most straight forward. A red and blue hero who heads into conflict raring for adventure. They often collect golden coins/rings that benefit them on their journey and they have experience mowing down world ending threats. Yet they always do it with a charismatic and infectious confidence that brings them many allies. The Brother: Another straightforward one. Whether you consider them the sidekick or a full-fledged partner, this tech-using, lightning associated (Battle and Heroes for Tails, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga for Luigi) guy might be more timid than their heroic older brother figures, but they're just as willing to go up against the biggest of threats with enough prompting. They also have their own spin off titles where they use drastically different methods to deal with foes than The Hero. The Romantic: The pink sometimes love interest, sometimes not (remember when Peach just friend zoned Mario in Super Paper Mario?) to The Hero who has a big heart, sweet demeanour but is way tougher than meets the eye. They're often associated with hearts, were often kidnapped by a lizard-like character (The Sonic Shogakukan manga features Amy being pursued by Anton Veruca, a punk lizard tough guy with a one sided crush and a big family. Sound familiar?) have some level of understated magical associations and tend to be among the most prominent of The Hero's allies, willing to get their hands dirty to save those in need. The Islander: Living apart from most of the cast on an island home, they met The Hero and after the events of their debut game, would become one of their most steadfast allies. They got their own game (Yoshi's Island, Knuckles Chaotix) where they went up against a blue ally of the main villain (Metal Sonic, Kamek) that would be a stepping stone to make said villain's ally become more prominent. The Hero and The Brother played much more minor roles and are often, if not a major player, at least prominent due to their popularity. Their debut game was also among the most popular in both franchises. The Princess: A tomboyish princess of a location outside the usual setting who debuted in a handheld title (which got a sequel, although, Daisy is not there for Mario Land 2, unlike Blaze for Sonic Rush Adventure), came with a new antagonist (Tatanga, Eggman Nega) and has sent the main villain into orbit at least once. That being said, beyond that and their willingness to head straight into the action, these two couldn't be more different in terms of personality.
The Mirror: An anti-heroic rival who is mysteriously similar looking to The Hero and first appears as a villain in the sequel to another game (Mario Land 2, Sonic Adventure 2) and starting out using a moveset very similar to said Hero before branching out more over the course of the series. Serving as a foil to The Hero, this motorcycle rider is very physically powerful, has been the defacto star from time to time and is among one of the most recognizable characters in their respective franchise. How good of terms they are with The Hero and the rest of the cast tends to vary from instalment to instalment.
The Oddball: Here we have the most random pairing of Silver and Waluigi, but there is some connection here? I think? A mysterious, lankier newcomer who starts out as a threatening antagonist before showing a lighter side to them in later games. While once very unpopular and seen as derivative of The Mirror, time (and memes) have been very kind to them, sky rocketing them into being some of the most beloved characters. They also get associated in the fandom quite a bit with The Princess. Aside from this and the fact that, as of writing, neither has their own game like the Mirror does, this one does feel the most random. I guess you could say they also get heavily associated with The Mirror thanks to their debut game?
The Villain: If The Hero is straightforward, this one is blatant. A silly but all the same imposing leader of an army and by far the most persistent villain in the franchise. Despite sometimes allying themselves with The Hero on occasion to stop a world ending threat, their own danger is matched only by their insane egos screwing them over. They even both have hover carts, comedic 90s cartoon portrayals and two sets of names (King Koopa and Bowser, Dr. Ivo Robotnik and Dr. Eggman) depending on the region (although, it is commonly accepted their names are "King Bowser Koopa" and "Doctor. Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik").
The Second-in-Command: The second in command to the Villain who sometimes has a more son-like role to them too. (Although, Bowser is clearly the better dad here by a landslide). They use techniques their father figure cannot and their big break as a 3D villain showcases their ability to change forms and pose as others. They also have some progenitors before them (The Koopalings & Koopa Kid, the Mecha Sonic series) with similar roles that they sometimes co-exist with. Also kidnapped The Romantic.
The Party Animal: By technicality, they sort of have seniority over a lot of characters but also don't. With Donkey Kong the First (Cranky) debuting with Mario and Vector being planned for Sonic 1. However, Donkey Kong the 3rd and Vector are currently still recurring characters with their own crew behind them (Kong Family, Team Chaotix) and use their great physical strength to get the job done, despite sometimes seeming a bit goofy. Their first playable appearance also showcases them really liking their music.
Now, if I were to make some of my own pairings:
The Advisor: Sage and Kamek. An advisor and outright family member of The Villain who are very intelligent, unflinchingly loyal to The Villain and while appearing before, made their grand debut as a persistent antagonist who sends out giant foes to do battle in a game set on an island. They also weirdly have some level of beef with the Islander (Albeit, way less common with Sage and Knuckles than with Kamek and Yoshi). They are one of the few characters who get to bring out a better side of The Villain and are well respected and cared for by them.
The ???: So. What are Dry Bowser and Eggman Nega to Bowser and Eggman again? Is Dry Bowser Bowser himself, a simple minion, a family member? Is Eggman Nega an alternate dimension variant, a future descendant, something else entirely?
I dunno what to call them: A menacing red and black ally to The Mirror with terrifying strength and poor social skills, they don't actually interact with The Hero very often. While they butt heads with The Mirror from time to time, they remain loyal nonetheless. This is a bit of an intentionally oddball one, but Omega and Ashley would at least be a funny visual.
And other ideas that are less indepth include Mighty and Pauline (red and making a resurgence after long absence),
Cream and Toad (short and friendly allies of The Romantic who serve as a bit of a rep to the Chao -through Cheese - and the Toads. They have also both been NPCs in the Olympic games),
Cranky and Sticks (fourth wall? where we're going, we don't need fourth walls)
and Rosalina and Tikal (friend of a smaller, cute group of beings, very peaceful people, both have some in depth lore to them. You could feasibly also switch out Tikal for Chaos.)
#mario & sonic at the olympic games#thanks for not saving this the first time tumblr#super mario#sonic the hedgehog#reblog#I guess you could also pair up Diddy Kong and Dixie with Espio and Charmy respectively?#One's the second most prominent member of their team after the leader#the other flies#Sega Nintendo please do another crossover series I beg

Hello 👋,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Aziz, and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt plea to help my family find safety and reunite with our mother. 😞
The ongoing war in Gaza has torn my family apart. My mother and newborn sister are stranded in Egypt, while I, along with the rest of my sex family members, am trapped in the midst of the genocide in Gaza. We have not only been separated but have also lost our home and are enduring unimaginable hardships. 💔
Your support can make a difference. Whether by reading our story, donating, or sharing our campaign with others, you can help us reunite, find safety, and start anew. 🙏🕊
Thank you, from the depths of my heart, for your kindness, compassion, and solidarity during this difficult time. ❤🍉

this is my design for if feli was a compile-era character! it's mostly done for fun, and is shown in how I would imagine her if she existed in this era. our interpretations may be different. this took a while to finish, and I tried to recreate the magazine scan style lol
this took a long time, so any comments or concerns would be appreciated! like I said, this is my personal beliefs on her design

My reaction exactly, Nate.
Just remembered that in the anime, there actually, canonically exists a Yo-Kai Union, to protect the rights and stuff of Yo-Kai from abusive watch users.
And I don't know why, but I find this thought kinda hilarious 😂
#yokai watch#yo kai watch#whisper#nate adams#Like. Excuse me?#I have many questions and no idea where to start.

According to Witch's profile from the Madou Monogatari Fanbook, witches receive two names upon completing their training: a pseudonym that is used publicly with other people, and a true name that is kept closely guarded. It is believed that a witch's true name contains their soul, so sharing it is mostly frowned upon.
