Levi and Mikasa isn't just rivals to lovers.

It's a love of self-hatred to self-love. They see themselves in each other — every little part of each other, the beautiful and the ugly. They harbored so much self-hatred for what they see themselves and what they don't know what they are at the same time. Levi and Mikasa find themselves in each other, romantically or platonically, they complete each other deeply. They are the same but different like two sides of the same coin. I love that they are explored emotionally and more in depth in fics especially. I feel like they're the only ship I know that are so raw and natural and human. They're impatient and get angry at each other because they see the imperfect parts of themselves in each other and I think they really do need that, to have someone to understand them and to be seen and to learn from too. They make each other grow and as they love each other, they love themselves too. It's funny because they look alike and act alike but they're still different. After everything they're still themselves and they don't need to change who they are to love each other and themselves. But they do improve themselves for each other's sakes to be the people they want to be and want to be for together.

That's the love I learned from them.
