like if maya struggles with saying i love you or prioritising her loved ones bc love = pain and she’s scared they’ll all leave if she lets them in, surely you don’t end her arc with those fears being validated right. surely you don’t say well, you let them in and they left anyways. like even if them leaving makes sense bc the relationship isn’t working for them anymore, you’re still proving maya right, and ending with ‘she needs to be okay with that’ is like…really miserable, even if it’s something everyone has to learn to be okay with (but she’s also the only main learning that?? lol)
