The musings of an errant blastseeker, ricocheting from one grand experiment to the next. Sometimes inane, sometimes explosive; sometimes scientific, sometimes (dare I say it) Magical...

1) Lorwyn/Shadowmoor - Great set, great setting. A return wouldn't need to be tribal- or hybrid-themed, but the flamekin are one of my favorite obscure Magic races, so I really hope they make an appearance.
2) Kylem - The world of Battlebond surpassed even its own set mechanics, every character oozing flavor. The return doesn't need to be a multiplayer-focused set, but please let's go back. Do it for the homunculi.
3) New Phyrexia - We've left them alone for quite a while now, so it's about time we see if they've reverse-engineered Venser's planeswalking engine yet. Or just turned him and made him do it.
4)Fiora - I really just want more multiplayer sets, but the bonus here is that Fiora has a bunch of great characters with motivations that could lead to almost anything.
5) Dominaria - The Plane At The Center Of The Multiverse has way too many stories left to tell than can even be alluded to in one set. Maybe it doesn't replace Ravnica in the rotation, but I'd like to go back there a little more often. Time Spiral shenanigans a bonus.
Inquiring Minds Want To Know - Planes to Visit in the Future
In today’s information gathering, I’m interested to hear what planes you want to visit in an upcoming Standard-legal set. Here’s how I would like you to respond. Please list, in order, your favorites from one up to five. You can list less than five, but please restrict yourself to five answers. Number 1 should be the plane you most want to see us visit in the future.
If you’re interested you may also tell me why you want to return to that plane. You can list any known plane including ones we’ve never visited before. I need names of existing planes though and not “wild west plane”.
Here’s an example:
1. Innistrad - It’s my favorite plane
2. Fiora - I love Conspiracy and would like to see Fiora in a Standard-legal set.
3. Tarkir - Go back, but there better be clans.
4. Rath - I don’t know how you’d do it, but I’d love it.
5. Alara - More Esper please.
I would love to get a lot of data, so please pass this along to your Magic friends to answer as well.
Please number your answers as the data will be weighted. I will count them in the order listed if you don’t number them. Please don’t list the same plane more than once.

2) Kylem - The mechanics of Battlebond were almost as great as its people, who oozed flavor. Please take us back there, even if the resulting set isn't multiplayer-focused.
3) New Phyrexia - We've left them alone for quite some time now. Time to see if they've built a planeswalking engine, or some other means to menace the Multiverse...
4) Fiora - There's enough intrigue here to fill several books, even if Dack doesn't show up (although he should) and if we don't get another Conspiracy set (we really should, even if it's not on Fiora, but Fiora's a great excuse for another one).
5) Dominaria - The Plane At The Center Of The Multiverse has way too many stories left to tell than can even be alluded to in one set. Maybe it doesn't replace Ravnica in the rotation, but I'd like to go back there a little more often. Time Spiral shenanigans a bonus.

Back (For Now)
And yes, I still love Ravnica in general and the Izzet (my people!) in particular. I may also disappear down a dark hole again with no warning, but for now? There's shitposting to be done!

This is wonderful. Missing the Orzhov, though - religious bankers who make the right deals with the right people... and may also sell you into slavery when you can't pay up.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t kind of the point that every guild in ravnica isn’t perfect and has a super shady side?
The azorious want justice through law, but take it too far
The boros want justice through action, but also take it too far
The rakdos are harmless circus performers, until someone explodes
The selesnya are a wonderful commune where everyone is equal, and also a dystopian hivemind with no free will
The dimir are a cool spy guild, who also murder people and replace them
The izzet are kooky mad scientists, who’s experiments go wrong and destroy things/people all the time
The gruul are cool “chill outside of society and hunt for food” folks, who also want to destroy all of society
The simic are neat bio-engineers, who’s experiments constantly break loose and wreak havoc on the city
The golgari are cool mushroom farmers that run the sewers, and also occasionally murder people and steal bodies for zombifying without consent, among other things.
The whole point is that, unchecked, the worst of the guilds run wild. Thats the reason the guildpact is supposed to exist. So please, can we stop shitting on people because they support one guild or another and assume the best of people for once? Like holy fuck y'all, its been a constant anxiety attack trying to scroll down my goddamn tumblr lately. We need to chill and not draw lines this hard or as a community we will collapse, especially as the story continues.

Turning The Lights Back On
I can’t promise that the Munitions Department will always have shots to fire, but we need to crank something out every so often now that Tumblr has a dormancy policy. Who knows, maybe this’ll mean actual posts in the future. The Overlord Dragon is not, however, holding his breath.

Note
I knew there was a reason I liked how Fate Reforged was shaping up! High complexity levels like this make for really interesting sets, so please crank out more of this stuff as often as is reasonable.
I believe Fate Reforged is hands-down the most complicated and wordy set in recent years. Many, many cards have tons of lines of text, many uncommons read like rares (in complication, not awesomeness), and themes such as dash, bolster and manifest (including shuffling them, and the Auras) take a while to process, especially because you tend to combine them with other abilities. Please tell me things go downhill from here.
This is the high end of complexity not a new norm.

kickstarter
This is one-part-test of Tumblr's new linking system, one-part-public service announcement for all two people who watch this space: The fan favorite visual novel CLANNAD is running a Kickstarter to fund an official English-language release at last. They've met the goal already, of course, but there's still stretch goals to make the final product better. Also, some of the stuff they're offering will only be distributed through this KS project. If you want in, click the green button; if there's no button, then complain to Tumblr and use Google instead.

I must know from whence this issued. If it's a film or TV show, I must see it. If it's real, I may be in love.

Okay, I know I never post here, but if anyone is still paying attention, read this and reblog it please! I love Magic and I don't want to see anything bad happen to this game if we can possibly avoid it.
Counterfeited MTG cards have always existed since the game started back in the mid-90s. Most of them were usually poor quality and can be easily distinguished by simple bend tests and light tricks. That is until some high quality bootleg cards started to show up in the states a few months ago.
