I think it's interesting, looking back, that Stone was supposed to be a side, one-off character, because I couldn't help noticing while rewatching Robotnik's introduction in Sonic 1 that all the other agents have black suits with white shirts and black ties -

Except for Agent Stone who of course has the black suit, black shirt, and black tie.

This not only sets him apart from the other agents (personally I think it makes him look more dangerous) but it also ties him closer to Robotnik as he's more in line with Robotnik's style and color scheme. How were we not supposed to look at Stone and say "oh yeah. That's Robotnik's agent"?

this scene says so much about stone without stone saying anything at all. genuinely its one of the moments that stuck with me the most. this is who stone is when the doctor isn't around. this is the part of stone we see in the prequill comic.
