<STAR WARS> はるか彼方の銀河系ブラックカレー / STAR WARS Black Curry from a galaxy far, far away….
was, in reality, available at four locations of Japanese disney merchandise eatery OH MY CAFE in early 2020 for 1590 yen.
With STAR WARS printed on the Star Wars food, this curry was metaphorically and literally the menu’s signature dish, albeit one that never returned. Further garnish of chopped peanuts appeared as “stars” atop the spicy black curry rice.
Please note that the event’s (further, inedible) merchandise included souvenirs depicting the food items. This included plastic file holders printed with illustrations of the menu, as well as acrylic magnets of the Star Wars Black Curry itself.

ふたりは戦友(ライバル)~トマトチキン&ビーツ入りポテトサラダドッグ~/ The Two Are Rivals ~Tomato Chicken & Beet Potato Salad Dog~
was a dish available at the Odaiba location of Gundam Café from April 25 to June 4th 2018. Priced at 648 yen including tax, the “dog” included two different fillings in roughly equal proportion with clashing symbolic colours. The red tomato coated chicken represented Char, and the pale magenta of the beetroot potato salad evoked Garma.
Or, as the English language menu put it, “Zeon’s young ace and a son of the Zabi Family. Though their current positions have changed… will they remain as they were when they were roommates[…]?"
Despite resembling a hot dog, it apparently did not contain any sausage.

大和田バタークッキー / Owada Butter Cookies
were Dangan Ronpa branded treats available from March 13th- 26th 2014 at Patisserie Swallowtail. The pair of shortbread-like cookies referenced the character's infamous execution in which he was rendered into butter.
Advertised as having twice the fat, the cookies likely had a rich texture, though their taste of Mondo Owada was left mercifully undescribed.

名刺で闘え!芹沢の名刺ピザ / Fight with Business Cards! Serizawa's Business Card Pizza
was an entrée sold from March 26th to April 8th 2024 at the Tokyo and Osaka locations of pop culture restaurant Amocafe to promote the 3rd season of Mob Psycho 100, which at that point had aired years ago.
Serizawa’s Business Card Pizza apparently consisted of rectangle cut pizza topped with cured meat and cherry tomatoes. Processed cheese garnished a slice with his contact information. This represented the character’s arc from shut-in terrorist to salaryman. Such a change must have been difficult, as cheese is not a popular cardstock.
Even at 1320 yen (including tax), some details of his edible business cards were obscured. Serizawa’s fax number remains elusive.

貪食ドラゴンの返吐/Gaping Dragon Vomit (*translation unofficial)
was a bowl of clam chowder sold at Dark Souls Café in spring of 2014. It cost 830 souls, but yen were accepted at a 1:1 exchange rate. Gaping Dragon Vomit contained bamboo charcoal, presumably to dye the soup grey, though the additive is also known for its unique texture and ashen taste.
The restaurant’s version of the vomit—seemingly made with carrots and a new-england style broth—was likely less corrosive than the in-game attack. Spilled or not however, the soup had real potential hazards as activated charcoal nullifies the effect of many drugs. So while any who consumed Gaping Dragon Vomit may not have had their equipment degraded, their medication likely was.
Please note that while Gaping Dragon Vomit returned as a menu item at Dark Souls 3 cafe, it was the same in name only. The later “food”—served in a mug with a spoon—was reportedly milk cocoa with granola for added texture and cost 700 souls. It was available from February 1st-26th 2016 as part of a cross-promotion between software publisher From Software and Shibuya department store 109MEN’S.
The popularity of each vomit is unclear.

松田&萩原のパチパチ爆弾ケーキ/Matsuda &Hagiwara’s Crackling Bomb Cake (translation unofficial)
was a dessert available at Detective Conan Cafe from April 1st to June 26th 2022, depending on the location, for 1760 yen including tax. Themed after the deaths of the characters, the bomb shaped cake capitalized on the popularity of the (particularly) cop-centric spin off and also promoted the franchise’s 25th mainline movie.
The chocolate cake—served on a slab—included icing “wires” and a variety of textures, with what seems to have been popping candy and blood-red dried raspberries. It also included faux-sakura representing the transience of the characters' lives, if not Hagiwara’s nationalism.
While Matsuda & Hagiwara’s Crackling Bomb Cake was the only dish of its kind on the BLOOM OF POLICE menu, the POLICE’S CAFETERIA menu represented the pair with a conceptually similar entrée, a bakudandon (literally “bomb-bowl”). As both menus ran concurrently, a dedicated customer could have a morbidly explosive two course meal.

DRAMAtical Murderパフェ/DRAMAtical Murder Parfait
was a parfait themed after DRAMAtical Murder.
Part of a promotional menu, the erotic visual novel branded dessert was available from August 1st to 12th 2014 at Patisserie Swallowtail, a bakery spin-off of the butler café of the same name.
While DRAMAtical Murder parfait's price was not archived by the bakery, Patisserie Swallowtail’s parent company K-BOOKS inc., located at Ikebukuro's "Fujoshi Street" cites a total sales performance that year of 5.75 billion yen. Dramatic, indeed.

帰れるところ~たっぷり野菜と特製ビーフシチューソース~/A Place to Return To: Veggie and Beef Stew
was a dish available at the Akihabara location of Gundam Café from July 10th to September 28th 2015, cross-promoting a roughly concurrent exhibit of the anime series' production art.
The special stew, costing 1058 yen, was themed to Gundam's last scene in which Amuro says a "temporary farewell to his beloved Lalah" and escapes the final explosions of war.
Or more literally, as the menu explained, "The crew (veggies) aboard the launch (naan). The position of the tomato is crucial."

ダルマチアン/Dalmatian
was a dessert cocktail themed after Paul von Oberstein from Legend of the Galactic Heroes, or more accurately, his dog.
The milkshake-like drink, which could be made with or without alcohol, included coffee jelly with a scoop of cookie ice-cream topped with more dairy and an oreo, evoking the black and white appearance of the imperialist’s unnamed pet.
Available at the military sci-fi series’ dedicated restaurant “Dining Cafe Iserlohn Fortress” from March 4th to at least April 18th 2022, the drink was part of a promotion for the theatrical debut of the 3rd season of the series’ 2nd (faithful) animated adaptation.
Dalmatian was priced at 1045 yen including taxes, with no apparent discount for non-alcoholic versions. This fixed price then served, if unintentionally, as an extension of its Oberstein theming, prompting customers to reckon with their own tastes versus pragmatic values.

王の器/Lordvessel
was a dish at Dark Souls Café that consisted of black fish & chips served with black tartar sauce and what appears to have been ketchup.
Available the full duration of the promotional restaurant overlay (from January 7th to April 6th 2014) is it unclear how the fish & chips became dark.
The meal reportedly required 2000 souls (cost 2000 yen), though an official menu with later metadata lists its price as 2060 souls. If the discrepancy was not a typo and indeed reflects a quickly raised price, it implies a troubling economy in Anor Londo.

Sans Soda
was a cotton candy flavoured soft drink available—in theory—on the Undertale menu held at Requiem Café from September 15th to October 10th, 2022. It is unclear if it included the pictured Sans’ skull shaped macaron.
Promoting the 7th anniversary of the video game's release, the Undertale event at the novelty Anaheim eatery had difficulties keeping up with demand of both edible and non-edible merchandise.
The Sans Soda in particular, priced at $7.75 USD, sold out on multiple occasions. This prompted café staff to instate an alternative drink priced at $4.20 called “Reigen Supreme” themed after Reigen Arataka from popular series Mob Psycho 100. The fruity yellow beverage was listed as “…not that good lol but its not bad?” It was also labeled as “piss”. Its popularity remains less certain.

刻(とき)の狭間 ~回鍋肉の中華プレート~/Rift of Time~Chinese Double-Cooked Pork Plate~ (unofficial translation)
was a Gundam Café dish representing the intersecting fates of Lalah, Amuro and Char.
The lettuce wrapped stir-fry shaped like Lalah's spacecraft Elmeth was available from July 14th to September 5th 2016 at the restaurants' Akihabara and Osaka locations for 1296 yen (tax included).
The beam saber skewer was not to be taken home.

合成獣(キメラ)のチョコモンブラン/ Chocolate Mont Blanc Chimera
was a dessert themed to the inseparable bond of Nina Tucker and her dog Alexander.
A late addition to the menu of promotional eatery Fullmetal Alchemist Cafe, the transmutation themed Mont Blanc was available from December 27th 2017 to January 31st 2018 for 1200 yen.
Quantities were limited, presumably due to the dessert's handmade nature, or regret.

「ヘタミュWW」コラボハンバーガープレート/Musical 「Hetalia 〜The world is wonderful〜」 Collaboration Hamburger Plate
was a dish at two locations of café Marufuku with a total availability that lasted from December 6th-31st 2021, promoting the stage show of the same name.
Consisting of a cheeseburger encircled with salad, the plating of this meal evokes the round floral logo of the 5th Hetalia musical, an image of which was printed onto the slice of cheese in a (presumably) edible way. It cost 1800 yen à la carte, and was touted as made with a patty of “local” beef, though it is unclear to where it was local.
Hetalia: Axis Powers merchandise and advertisements, like the series itself, often lean hard into national stereotypes, so it’s possible—though unlikely—this burger was made simple in appearance to avoid further diplomatic controversy. More realistically, it was a tiny menu.

毛玉ココア/Kedama Cocoa
was a drink with a cartoon pomeranian face available from March 6th to April 3rd 2024 at 3 locations of the café franchise "and GALLERY” for 850 yen.
The dog themed beverage was part of a promotion for the second movie of the BL series “Given”.
Kedama, meaning fur-ball, presumably refers to the puppy character of the same name, as canines were not listed as one the menu’s many allergens. However, it is unclear how the drink got its appearance.
Consuming cocoa can be fatal to dogs.

厚切りハロカツ/Thick Cut Haro Katsu
was a fried pork dish available at the Osaka branch of Gundam Café for 486 yen (tax included) upon the location's opening in March 20th 2019.
While minor Mobile Suit Gundam characters Katz (カツ) and Letz (レツ) are named after "cutlets" (カツレツ) it is perhaps best for one's palate that this particular Gundam cutlet took the "cute" and decidedly robotic shape of the series' mascot.

糞団子 (特製ミートボール ブラックガーリックソース掛け)/ Dung Pie aka Special Meatballs in Black Garlic Sauce (translation unofficial)
was a dish available at Dark Souls Café with a requirement of 1500 souls (cost of 1500 yen). Dark Souls Café was a re-theme of OZ Café that took place from Jan 6th 2014 to April 6th 2014 to promote the game Dark Souls II, which as of the opening of the overlay, was both yet to be released and reportedly unfinished.
Dung Pie, said to be tastier than its name, was topped with a dark demi-glace. Like other dishes at Dark Souls Café, it appears to have been dyed black with edible charcoal and was possibly a variant of OZ Cafés typical bar and grill fare, Australian cuisine. OZ Café is permanently closed.
Dung Pie was Dark Souls Café’s last item categorized as “Others”. It was also a permanent menu item, so unlike some of the monthly special food, it was possible to order Dung Pies during Dark Souls Café’s week-long Valentines event. It is unclear how many couples attended.
In addition to its disclosure of being meat, Dung Pie was described with the items’ in-game description, explaining the strategic usage of them as fetid projectiles before breaking fiction to reassure the reader with something to the effect of, “This is what Dark Souls is all about.”
