here's my first pieces for the @batfam-big-bang !! these were super fun to work on !! please go check out the amazing fic written by @skarmoree right here! (its super good, trust me)
the first pic was inspired by this bit
The girl reaches for the notebook this time, and Barbara passes it over, watching in interest as she scribbles a little in the corner to test the pen (she grasps it with her whole fist — such a childish way to hold it, almost as if she doesn’t know how) before using the rest of the page to draw— A bat. She taps the symbol with the pen, before jabbing the pen at Barbara. “Yes,” Barbara says, a little surprised, “that's me.”
and the second was inspired by this scene !
“Well yeah, he doesn’t have classes the next day,” Tim said, and instantly the girl was off the counter and on the ground, brandishing the spare teaspoon as if it were a knife. “Woah.” Tim got out, before she dropped into a more casual posture, kicking a foot up to lean against the bench, swapping the spoon for her mug. “Good-” Alfred glanced at his wristwatch- “morning, master Timothy. We have a guest in the Belfry.”
go read it NOW !! (and subscribe so u can keep up with it <3)

Update: it has gotten significantly warmer. Like it's not even hot it's just warm. Really hoping the warning for thunderstorms and rain are true😭
It's nauseating how warm it is in Scotland rn. It's 07:21 and I'm sweating my damn ass off. Please cool down I genuinely can't handle this right now😭😭😭😭

Tom Taylor's run of Nightwing wasn't enjoyable in the slightest, but at least we got Bitewing out of it

On the topic of Superman (2025), it's so important to me how the Kents are depicted. You can tell that they genuinely love their boy so damn much from the flashbacks at the end and the way they interact on screen.

She is the absolute MVP of this movie
Tumblr media
Shout out to Eve Teschmacher tho. She realized her boyfriend was a piece of shit and that she was in extreme danger, and she managed to gather everything needed to take him down without him catching on until it was too late.

I actually really like the fact that it's the Justice Gang who shows up instead of Superman because I feel like it really emphasises that Superman is the hero of heroes - that his kindness is enough to inspire others to do what's morally right and not dismiss it as "not their problem"

just saw the new Superman and yknow what I keep thinking about?.. when he’s fighting Luthor’s diversion in Metropolis, Clark is making every effort to isolate it to a relatively open space (the park). damages are at a minimum. but that takes time, it’s not efficient enough, so then the corporate-funded Justice Gang shows up - and oops, suddenly buildings are being swept off their foundations, civilians in direct line of fire, the city core is getting ripped apart. he’s scrambling to save children, squirrels, people caught in the red zone while the others are more interested in punching the big monster. the story makes it absolutely clear that corporations don’t care about life or harm reduction, and in a world in which superheroes are already normalized, this kindness is what sets Superman apart

(Superman Spoilers)
Lois Lane ragebaits Superman during an interview, pours half a container of sugar into about 4 ounces of coffee and dictates an article taking down lex luthor while driving a hovercraft. They nailed her. We are so back.

Shoutout to Superman (2025) for making it incredibly fucking clear that Superman is for good people. He’s hope. He’s love. He’s supportive. He’s an immigrant. He supports Palestine. He loves animals. He protects children.
The movie is a light. If you’ve been feeling really depressed about the world lately I’d highly suggest watching Superman.

everybody say "thank you superman 2025 for bringing truly irredeemable villains back with lex luther!"
he is a cold blooded killer. he has pathetic tantrums and throws pens on the floor. he only wears black. he delivers a fantasically evil villain monologue. he cries pathetically when beaten. his motivation is not related to some tragic backstory, but is simply jealousy twisted into something so deplorably evil. he is bald.
this movie really is All That™️ and then some.

Something I really loved in the new Superman:
When that building is falling down over the bridge, Superman is saving one woman in a car. Usually in superhero movies or TV procedurals with emergency services, if it’s a woman in a car she also has a child or a crying baby to “raise the stakes” and make you care. But for this Superman, and in the context of this movie, it’s enough to just be a woman alone in a shitty car that won’t start right. She doesn’t need to be a mother for the stakes to be high enough that Superman uses his body to stop an entire skyscraper.
It was small, but it felt really powerful to me the moment I saw it.

Things I’m obsessed with after coming out of the Superman 2025 film:
- our introduction to this superman being him getting dragged across the tundra on his face by his dog
- green lantern’s use of the ‘big blue’ nickname
- Perry white and the daily planet core group not gaf about the mandatory evacuation and going over their newest story nonchalantly as people flee around them
- the rasp in David’s voice when he yelled the “People Were Going To DIE—“ line
- Lex Luther being pushed to TEARS at the end due to the intensity of his hatred for Superman
- the scene where Superman rising out of the dust and debris to make sure the lady got away okay (the visuals combined with the musical score gave me actual goosebumps)
- the clone reveal (I.e. the subtle nod to a Connor Kent storyline in the future hopefully and how this superman is going to deal with it)
- Lois’s apartment, just in general - also the fact that we got to see her apartment and not Clark’s
- just, everything time mr. Terrific was on screen to be honest but ESPECIALLY his ‘I’m goddamn Mr. Terrific” line
- the scene with the three kids holding up the flag, goosebumps again instantly
- the choice to make pa Kent and Clark’s relationship be the emotionally charged dynamic (we love to see male vulnerability not used as the butt of a joke)
- the score during the moment of eye contact between Lois and Metamorpho after they escape the pocket universe
- jimmy’s rizz factor being the technical reason they won the battle in the end

At the end of the day, I think that Snyder was always trying to say that humanity doesn't deserve Superman, and that Superman sometimes thinks that himself.
While James Gunn is saying that we do. And that Superman WANTS to help. He loves humanity because humanity is all the best parts of him.
Snyder came in with his idea of what he wanted Superman to be. Gunn KNOWS who Superman really IS. And that's an important distinction.
