KARMA just released with a bunch of versions; the Limited/KARMA ver, Standard Version (with the CEREMONY or HOORAY versions), SZOO (their little mascots) blind bag, Accordion Version, Compact Ver, Digital, and Three different Vinyls.

I'm pretty sure all of these came with a separate pre-order inclusions as well, but my orders didn't meet the deadline.

KARMA Version has a lot of posters of all the members. It came with two 'real' photocards, but also a similar piece of paper (we call them boy paper) with each member. If I was only going to buy one version, I would've bought this.

STND-Ceremony and Hooray are two different concepts/photoshoots, and could have the Signed version purchased. There are also exclusive photo card inclusions depending on where you buy them, whether from B&N, Walmart, Target, or the official SKZ store.

the SKZOO Version has a little plushie, a blind bag to represent each member. They're actually super cute lol. SKZOO's general resell for a lot because they sell out really fast. (Thanks, scalpers.)

The ACCORDION version is a literal accordion with your chosen member on it, and two photo cards. If your order online its usually randomized, so most people buy these in store.

the digital version is just the album.

The Compast Version is smaller, I don't have it so I'm not sure what's in it.

The Vinyls are actually pretty cool, it's the first time they've done them, and you got only a poster and photo card (I understand the lesser inclusions bc vinyls are so expensive to produce.)

The top two are 24-30US$, the accordion ~$16. SKZOO originally went for 24 I think but it's being gouged by resellers.

okay look lets just say photo cards were a thing at the time.

Kyoya is smart, he totally thought of adding a random element to them. Each phonebook got different cards, lets say two, and it can either be different photos of Tamaki (out of a set of like 20) or the different hosts (this would drive people to pull more and more for their bias/favorite host)

I kid you not I just bought four versions of the same album because they had different inclusions. There are people who are buying hundreds to get the photo cards they want.

I know photo cards weren't really a thing until within the past decade, but....

Also in Japan it's common to have an inclusion in magazines, the girls might've wanted whatever was in the magazine if he did that.

it’s a key difference in perception. fic isn’t given. it’s shared. it’s part of a fandom community— in which readers are also an integral part.

it’s probably inevitable mission creep from the increasingly transactional nature of the internet and fandom-as-consumerism, which was always gonna happen after corps worked out how much bank there is to make from those weirdo fan people

but like. fandom is sharing. i think we’ve lost that somewhere.

unironically when i read midnight forest i was pulled back to sixth grade camp when our counselor took us out after curfew to go find an owl in the woods, and the distinct fresh smell of the earth and petrichor and trees and fauna surrounding me. i haven’t thought about camp in years.

“characters in fic are too good at identifying scents” is officially an “his eyes did not literally darken” level of complaint to me now like it’s about the drama it’s about the romance it’s about atmosphere it’s about taking you to a heightened version of reality!!! please suspend your disbelief at least enough for vibes-based sensory descriptions it will be So Worth It i promise

A few years ago while trying to find ways to commit suicide as painlessly as possible, I came across a PDF of Dr. Paul Quinnett's The Forever Decision. Thinking it might go into actual methods of suicide (I read an article once that actually did that and was trying to find it again) I started to read it, and I think I only got about two pages in before I was crying too much to actually see the words.

I downloaded the PDF to my hard drive and I open it again whenever I'm feeling too suicidal to do much else, but not enough to start booking a ride to the hospital. And every time without fail I only go up to a few pages before backing off and choosing to live another day just because suicide suddenly seems even more unbearable than whatever the hell upset me in the first place.

All the book really does is [I'm pulling a summary from GoodReads here as, again, I've read no more than 5 pages] "discusses the social aspects of suicide, the right to die, anger, loneliness, depression, stress, hopelessness, drug and alcohol abuse, the consequences of a suicide attempt, and how to get help."

But it also starts with the author kindly asking the reader to complete the book before going through with anything, and for some reason I'm compelled to really just try to read it all before finalizing everything. Despite not yet completing it (hopefully never will) I think I can safely say it's saved my life at least a few times now.

It's intentionally legal to copy and redistribute this book to keep it as accessible as possible, and it's very easy to find, but here's a link for it anyways.
