Any age can really watch this as it doesn’t have anything too bad except for taking random pills from the outside and some people might see this as something similar to drugs so I’m going to say 12+ however if the parent doesn’t think their child will see the pills as drugs I don’t see anything wrong with it so

My Final thing

I think it could have ended better be more even and smooth. But I really like how it looks a bit old. I really tried to add more detail on the hands and feet by adding toe nails making it less even. I made the girl more curvy and the guy with more straight lines.

It could have been a lot better and I feel like next time I could use more of the nail polish so that when I layered the white over more white the white below wouldn’t leave and stay stick to the legs but I didn’t think of that which made the whole thing look a but lumpy and the dolls colour uneven. However like I said I’m kinda glad because it reminds me of an antique doll and I feel like maybe I could have exaggerated that part but I only noticed this after I put the clothes on the girl. Another thing is the paint got so thick it kinda hid some of the details, however it was kinda good because the sculpy was so soft it made the detail really deep and the paint mae it less deep. You can kinda see that on the back.

Overall I do believe it’s not what I expected and it could have been better but it looks kind of cute.

My Tests

I ended up not doing them as they ended really wrong and I didn’t have that much sculpy to waste.

In a nutshell I forgot to cut the middle to be able to separate the them and that the foil on the inside so I had to break their backs but then I didn’t know how I would fix them again and I ended up doing every limb from the panda and bunny. Their bodies and head. So that was already a lot I lost. So I had to not make it .

String

I ended up taking the middle part of and putting string as the glove was too thick for the middle and I didn’t like how it looked. I had string and took a big piece folded on itself to make it look thicker. Not really a big fan of it but it was the only thing I could do.

To make it easier for me I wrapped it around her neck and stitched the last piece together. After that I started focusing on the middle part that goes around her. However I hated how it looked has a really thick look to it and I didn’t really want that so my plan is to find something else I can wrap around her.

Stitching

With the top bit I stitched them together so I can make it go around her neck and stay on her without falling off. I also folded the neck piece in half and folded it so it looked like a bit of fluff.

Glove

As the shops are all closed I don’t really know where to buy materials for the clothes and online I’m scared it might take to long to come. That’s when I found this glove had a similar colour to what I wanted so I got it. I cut the middle part and started stitching the sides so it looked more even and not all over the place.

This is the finish drawing. Its alright it helps me understand what skin colour I want them to be or the clothes I might want to give them. The guy ended up a bit small which is upsetting since I just want to make him look like he was hunching his back. I didn’t add any background since I still don’t know how to do that and I’m trying to focus on characters for now. I don’t mind it I got the body proportions right. I tried to make it simple so it wouldn’t look to bad. I feel like my next step for digital drawing is adding more detail and using darker, stronger colours.

In conclusion it’s alright but the guy could be better and it could have had more detailed.

The guy

This is just me making the guy I didn’t screenshot the sketch but here is me shading him and giving his some bandages and I might add a shirt and this should be finished. I feel like I made him look too small when I just wanted it to look like he was hunching his back. To be honest I prefer the girl and that I need to practice my digital drawing a lot more but it doesn’t look like a 2 year old did it at least. So I’m going to finish this and then post both the female angles and the end of this drawing.

From different angles

The first image is just to show how I shaded my drawings. I saw a lot of people do this to give skin different tones. Sadly I didn’t do any posts on those videos as I said this was only for me to explore digital drawing I didn’t actually expect to use this on my project but I can briefly explain what the videos I saw told me. I saw a lot of people normally put the shadows and highlights then they blend it and they’d add extra highlights or shadows if needed (also they normally don’t blend this part, if they do just a little bit). I learned to do everything in one big line and not what I did at first do a line back and forth. To always finish the drawing because in digital the sketch looks 100 times better than the line art. That’s because the sketch has a lot going on and the line art doesn’t so for your brain it feels empty. That’s about the main things I learned.

Final Idea

So this was me again experimenting digital drawing and I actually quite liked it so I decided to get some simple colours and then made what she’d look from the sides. So I just started with a simple sketch. Then did the line art and coloured it. It’s alright it could be better but it was one of my first few times so I’m quite happy with it. Now I want to finish the second part aka the guy and hopefully it ends up well.

These are some poses for me to have an idea of what I want. I at first didn’t know if I wanted one or two people so I put two characters by themselves. At the end I think I might do both but think of another pose.

Idea

So I want to make a few ideas to see if I just want to sculpt or if I want to make a doll so here is one of my plans. I looked at other bjd dolls to have an Idea how big the balls in between the limbs would be and how I can make her stomach bend that’s why there is also a ball in between the hips and chest. At the bottom left that was another way I could do a doll without the elastic string as materials can be a bit limited. I added clothes and hair to see how it would kinda look at the end. This will help me work out how much materials I need and understand how it works.

Hands

Just like the feet this is how I do the hand. I did a few little balls and a palm. Then added bigger circles on the palm to make it not flat and with a little tool I connected all the balls together. Added more sculpy to the back of the hand to make it less flat. To finish it did little nails.

Shiny or Matte

I forgot to mention but after I did the skin colour on both I actually put matte nail polish so when I painted it wouldn’t be to uneven because the polish would be protecting the white below it. After that I wondered maybe I can make it shiny but I changed my mind after I tried it. I really like how Matte looks because it makes the sculpture look really really old. I wanted to make it shiny because I felt like they kinda remind me of those glass dolls normally painted “badly” but when I made it shiny it had a bit of that effect but I preferred it Matte.

Faces

Added detail to the hair, did their face and painted her nails. With the painting I really don’t mind how it made it not smooth as it was the only thing I had so I can’t be too upset. However it ruined the hand. The hand wasn’t perfect but not it’s way too thick because of those layer but this was only a big problem on the girl but it��s still a bit upsetting.
