One thing I like about most fairy tales is the antagonists' hilarious incapability to take care of the protagonists. Like Snow White's stepmother really decided to kill herself? Why though? It would have been easier and smarter to hire a hitman who would go into the dwarves' cottage and shoot her in the head with a musket. I know that the stepmom tried that once with a huntsman and it didn't work, but why not try again? Even if Snow White gets away again, you have the magic mirror to check if she's still alive.

Conclusion: Snow White's stepmom was a stupid and impatient bastard who couldn't even form a 'three times the charm' thought, and she fully deserved the agonizing death that she got.
