it snowed so much last night!!! 💙❄🌨

i absolutely love snow!! it makes me so happy, friends!! i went outside when i woke up & saw a bunch of different animal prints in the snow.... i hope they're all safe and okay. 🤍 today feels like a good day to just stay inside, drink some hot cocoa and play some comfy games. 🎮

African Wild Dogs ! 🐾

African wild dogs ,or Painted dogs, can be found in Southern Africa and in the southern part of East africa! They’re found usually in groups of ten but have been found to group up more than 20, and are usually mistaken for Hyenas, whom are not canines and are more related to felines!

These canines are referred to as marathon runners, running up to 45mph which leaves 80% of their hunts successful! They’re intelligent and very social, like Hyenas who use different vocalizations (sounds) to communicate, they too use different vocal calls.

Unlike other animal groups, this sub species is known to mourn/care for their deceased and injured members, protecting them and caring deeply for them! They also are less aggressive towards eachother, never fighting over food, they instead beg for food, and share equally together, letting the young eat first before the older do.

Unfortunately though these dogs are endangered, only less than 7k are left in the world, due to their need for more space which is overtaken by human settlements and they end up attacking livestock like many animals do. They are also road hazards, and due to their settlements, they are exposed to these diseases. They are simply small beings in a land taken from them by humans :(

I really love animal facts, and plan to become a game warden or a wildlife conservationist! So I wanted to make a post like this because well, I’m bored and Painted dogs are one of my heart types, also i wrote this using mainly what I remember and what I wrote in my notes like…6 months ago :3
