I see a lot of folks lament that they want to talk about their ocs, share their art or fics or whatever but they don't because they don't think anyone will care or they don't want to "be annoying".

And maybe its a symptom of content culture in general where people think they have to have an audience to make it "worth" posting their ideas but you can literally just start!

Maybe no one will care. Maybe the things you spent a lot of time and effort on will get no notes at all but its not less than if you never shared at all.

It's scary to put stuff out there, especially when people can be nasty for no reason. But seriously, there is absolutely no harm in just gushing about your oc unprompted. It's not annoying. Fandoms thrive on this shit.

I love the way Tumblr does art engagement. I couldve posted something months ago and it's still getting notes steadily. In twitter my drawings had a 1 week shelf life and then it's over. It's old news. Love this. There's posts I see circulating from 2013. This is amazing.

My friend asked me why I refuse so vehemently to use chatgpt. Everyone is using it already. Society is progressing and ai is the future. I'm being left behind. Environmental consequences be damned, earth is already doomed anyway. It is mostly big corpos fault. One conversation with an AI isn't changing much.

Am I to sit while it happens? Am I to use the latest bit of technology, marveling at the words on a screen, simply because that's what everyone else is doing? Earth is doomed, so I must give up? Go along with it? Wait idly as my death comes nearer? Contribute to it?

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism, yes. But I don't care to be efficient. I don't care to be on cutting edge technology. I don't care for time saving. If for my conscience to be clear I must take 10x the time on something that my peers have already finished, then so be it.

Yes earth is dying. Yes it wasn't really my fault. But AI is contributing to it. I don't care if we're already as good as dead. I don't care if everyone else is doing it. I have never used an AI assistant and I am proud of it. I think it is annoying and inaccurate on its information at best. If I am to die among these machines and technological prowess, then I will scream. I will scream as it all burns, and I will yell in everyone's faces I told you. I told you this would happen, and I told you your silly image trends were speeding it up. I will scream and my voice will die out and the last thing you hear from me is that you did this. I did my best to not contribute to it, and I will be at peace with that. You will be left with that on your mind and you will open your phone to ask chatgpt what you should think about it. You will ask it what some good last words are.
