I found something similar to the James Fitzjames white sweater at a vintage clothes shop for $20 and didn't buy (or even touch) it because I knew I would involve it in a coffee mishap immediately. I was literally holding a cup of coffee when I saw it.

Hornblower is coping okay so far in Hotspur despite feeling a little sad that he can't tease Bush anymore. The wardroom banding together to make him cabin furnishings (to his absolute shock) probably helped a lot.
He also doesn't currently have any tasty food to share. He has occasionally pined for the food in the wardroom and made an effort to get himself invited to dinner. And he borrowed their mustard.
Last rb but it’s so true kinda. Whenever you pick up a ship book (at least in my experience) and the guy is newly promoted to captain he’s like damn. This is lonely actually. Sitting here…. Eating dinner alone… no wardroom chit chat… can’t hear anyone sleeping next to me. And then he goes around inviting his officers to dinner and it’s like watching a dog at the dog park looking around with a chew toy in its mouth for friends. Except it’s roast beef and a bottle of claret.
