I've recently set myself to the task of learning some ragtime on the piano and it's slow going, though I think a fair bit easier than arranging rags for the concertina! this guy absolutely kills it!!!

I practice with the headphones plugged in so I don't disturb my roommates, but that also means Bee doesn't experience The Consequences of her actions

a 3 year old kid stood right in front of my band when we were playing at a local farmers market yesterday for probably half our set just dancing and clapping and stomping along to the music. we started playing a jig and they threw their head back and yelled "I love this song!!!!" with SUCH exuberance. me too kid.

anyway you should always remember that all those foreigners you see dying on the news are just as real people as you are who have just as much interiority as you do. there is nothing about you that makes you more important and it is by pure chance that you are not in their position. in fact, this holds for all of history. every person, no matter the horror of the fate that befell them, had just as much interiority as you do. i feel like some people haven't fully internalized this.
