I get why people like the Acolyte and I get why people want to like the acolyte. I also get why they are mad it was cancelled. There are some good things on that show; personally, I think it would have worked better if it was its own thing, unrelated to Stat Wars. But just because you like the show, doesn’t mean you get to attack people who didn’t like it. Specially, not before hearing them out. Or attack people because they disliked the way the director and some of the actors handled the press.

The Acolyte was just as bad as The Rise of Skywalker, in my opinion. And for the same reasons too. Mostly Disney, mostly the directors.

The reason people really dislike the Acolyte is because of how the director and some of the actors responded to the criticism. They turned it into a social justice issue, when it wasn’t. Sure, people made racist, sexism, homophobic remarks, but that wasn’t the majority of the fan base who disliked the show. Instead of taking accountability for totally overhauling two of the most important aspects of the franchise and for cheapening the main story and sabotaging future plot projects, the director attacked the fans. Not good. And the actors should have stayed quiet, maybe commented on how the prejudice made them uncomfortable, but definitely not use it as an excuse for the show failing.

My apologies to the hard working, unfairly treated, writers, directors, cast and crew but I am not exaggerating when I say I am one more cancelation from not being willing to start any more new shows. I can't keep getting attached to these characters and excited to see their stories only for them to canceled after one or two seasons and never be told. Especially when most of them only get eight episodes or less. I wouldn't mind short seasons if I got a complete story but that rarely happens anymore.
