Vena and Mercury sketches

Sorry I disappeared I was busy making my own psychopomp merch.

Anyways, I wanted to draw Vena and Mercury with similar body types to Aphrodite and Hermes, considering this is what I think they'd look like pre Psychopomp/abstraction. Should I draw more chubby Vena and Mercury? I think it makes sense.

I also think we should start drawing more unhinged Mercury, he clearly has some shit going on. I mean, those phone calls we had on the game with him.. he sounded kinda crazy.

wip... thinking about him forever. a lot of these are based on karb's concept art of his other emotions heehee. thoughts and design ideas below the cut :)

none of these rules are particularly solid or concrete (his face is abstracted, after all) but i wanted to add some consistency to my interpretation :) -the more symmetrical his face, the more negative the emotion may be. Misery is a special case. -an eye or eye symbol is present in every face. violent has an eye-like mark in the middle of the tongue, resigned... well any of those could be eyes lol -the material of his face is also abstract and not any particular viscosity or state of matter. a little on the fence about the glitch effect on his embarrassed face. -fun fact: his professional face's eye is meant to be a target or the sights of a gun :) i want to do more... but i should also actually draw the rest of his body before i do that lol.

extremely funny to me that harley quinns real name is apparently harleen quinzel, a name that sounds less real that harley quinn. they should do that with more comic characters. batman real name batthew manning. daredevil real name darius devilson. doctor strange real name. well okay that one doesnt count.
