Not sure what was a better catch this weekend. The 5.66 lb largmeouth that took lunker or the random rod and reel I pulled in while casting. 😂

Beautiful day out on Lake Champlain

Haven't had a chance to get out on the boat yet this spring. Had a bad accident with a knife a few weeks ago. Stitches are out and while I am still recovering, I can finally grip a pole to cast so out I went!

Water temps have dropped to 38 degrees. The Smallies are chewing if you can handle the conditions!

Lost a 5lber. Tough to hear with the wind but it's my fault. Dad said...need the net? I said nope...thinking I'll just flip this one in.

But she came out angry with a beautiful jump!

Finished with 19 pounds today at the ABA Pro Series. Respectable bag but nowhere near enough going against guy running to the lake.

I stayed in the river and it was certainly not an easy bite today, but it was a great day fishing solo. I really like not having a non-boater other than the netting situation. Man did I lose a big one in the current trying to net solo.

Really struggled to locate the smallmouth today so when I ran into a pod of walleyes on the graph, I figured it’s time to get dinner.
