4:00 - 6:00 PM - reading manga

6:00 - 7:00 PM - playing games

7:00 - 8:00 PM - dinner

8:00 - 9:00 PM - bath time (dorm’s big public bath)

If they were real, STARISH and Quartet Night

It started with this baby boi pulling the wink+blep face for the Halloween greeting in Shining Live and I just lost it.

And this caused me to spiral why the hell I love this cinnamon roll. I will start from Quartet Night, then STARISH. I do not YET perceive HEAVENS because I don’t know enough about them to have a good opinion of them.

DISCLAIMER: Please know these are my own opinions due to my personal preferences and experiences (And being in a 5-year strong relationship has colored much of what I now gravitate towards in characters like these, for a franchise like this.). I also live in a patriarchal and yikey society so that also made me wary of some characters more than normal. If these characters happen to be your favorite, I apologize for the harsh words about them. It’s not on them as characters, but on them as a hypothetical IF THEY EXISTED AS REAL PEOPLE. OTHERWISE, I love them ALL so much as people in the fictional media they are in. With that aside...

QUARTET NIGHT - Ranmaru

Sad to say, I dislike his grumpy “ >:( “energy. I feel like it would be hard to start a conversation, even if I’ve spent much of my years in the rock and metal side of music. We might not get along because of how aggressive/eternally-angry people drain me. He also can’t seem to take a jab SKSK it would be hard to joke around him too. But I guess there’s still hope for interaction since we have rock music as a common ground.

QUARTET NIGHT - CAMUS

HARD PASS BRO. He’s vain, two-faced (flirtatious and submissive onstage, cold and bossy offstage), and I can’t even imagine being friends with this guy. It just feels vexing to me to even try. Pretty handsome though!

QUARTET NIGHT - AI 

Quiet and objective. Can’t imagine romance, but I can deffo imagine being friends to talk about stuff with. I imagine he can think of questioning both norms and the extremes, and a good discourse partner. All-around a good brainbuddy probably! 

QUARTET NIGHT - Reiji

HE. My 2nd best BF-material for sure.

He’s like an older brother figure, and people close to me know that I have a bias towards men who naturally take on a caring and nurturing role like an older brother would without being too overbearing. He’s responsible and competent despite his goofy impression, and is the glue that holds HIS senior idol group together. He’s cheery and has enough self-awareness to know when’s a good time to step back to reflect on his problems before going back with a refreshed mindset and rekindled drive. Though he doesn't have much baggage, he’s very empathetic and loves cheering people up. He looks after everyone with care even if he knows they don't respect him the same way. That makes me respect him so much. I’d absolutely wanna date him, but if I can’t, then I’d still love to be his friend.

Now, onto STARISH!

STARISH - Masato

Well, he’s a very very formal guy. He gets easily flustered to silence and seems dense. Due to his patriarchal upbringing, he can’t even deal with women because he isn't familiar with how they are, gets flustered hugging a woman, etc. But I respect him and his struggle to move away from that environment. He’s got issues, but I’m more willing to be his bro than his gf.

STARISH - Ren

Well. He’s a flirty fuccboi what can I say. He has a way with words but also observant and smart, but he has the makings of someone potentially manipulative, or he might not be able to respect boundaries. He seems like someone who’d respect your boundary shortly for charm points and then tread closer to them to pressure you into caving, and I dislike that. BUT he has a grounded intellectual side that is refreshing and stuff, so maybe just an acquaintance or a colleague, but not a friend, especially not a BF. Maybe if he proves his genuineness after a long time, I’d let him in emotionally. HAHA!

STARISH - Syo

He’s loud and easy to frustrate or anger. Very vocal and might be the type to speak before thinking. Seems to also be the type to look for an attack in statements first instead of the person’s true intent. I respect him for like,,,, dressing feminine but still declaring masculinity as if society respects that dissonance in expression and behavior. That’s pretty badass. But as a friend? I’d still keep an emotional distance, but he seems to be fun if we’re both trashtalking something or someone who deserves it lmFAO but we wouldn’t be seen hanging out for the sake of hanging out. I also respect him for sticking with his bestie Natsuki who has his own set of baggages and quirks.

STARISH - Natsuki

I feel like Natuski is so much more fitting to be a bestie? He doesn't seem all that interested in a romance either, just someone who accepts him. I’d love to be his friend who would do that, bec I can feel safe and have like a gurlbestie relationship with him. He’s also got something complex hidden in his personality that touches a part of my life deeply (A friend having the same experience and condition as him), which I can heavily sympathize with. Definitely bestie material.

STARISH - Cecil

He speaks like a humanities course major :sob: He’s insightful and observant and stuff but can also be flirtatious or pursue-y in a too forward way I'm not comfortable with huhu but as a friend I’d respect him and his craft since I know they’d be good! I like his curiosity and genuine interest in learning, and would probably hit it off in a cultural exchange of some sorts lmao but as a partner? Nope.

STARISH - Tokiya

Hoo boy. Actually before I liked Otoya or Reiji, Tokiya was my first best boi. He fell to 3rd place the longer I got into the franchise. He’s...a token professional guy, but can be way too serious and solemn to be my bf. BUT I’d love him as a chill friend to exchange Thoughts with on serious matters, and as each others confidants. He has baggage, but i respect his hustle and I could empathize with his loneliness as an only child with divorced parents. He can be very professional and lives a v rigid life. I cant with that bro but I’ll always cheer you on! It’s a high-maintenance life to accommodate and I’m not ready for that much conscientiousness, seeing as I can barely keep mine in check. In contrast to Syo, he’d be the guy I’d enjoy silent companionship with. And I’d love to be the friend who’d threaten him out of overworking : )  Sir your healthy diet ain’t sht if you practice ‘til you’re an inch within passing out.

And now, for the main event:

Otoya, my sunshine, my sunflower, my shining star and glowing moon

His high energy might seem like a contrast to what I usually like, but that's because he balances that out with so many other traits that I really like. He’s quite childlike, but still mature. He’s already gone through much grief and loss, and consequently emphasizes treasuring people and experiences as you go through them, knowing full well how nothing is eternal. Otoya isn’t afraid to express his vulnerable side either; he lets his girl see his emotions and never pretends to know better just to feel superior, or that he has to “get it together” for her. I admire it when people are open or honest about their emotions like that. He’s naïve in the most genuine way, always giving everyone the benefit of the doubt. He seems like the type to respect boundaries and try his hardest not to come to conclusions before you tell him what’s wrong. He’s also a dork about his hobbies, which is also something I find cute ;u;

Also also he’s also the first to welcome the newbie STARISH member everyone disliked just because he was new. I absolutely love indiscriminately friendly types. He emphasizes making everyone feel welcome and befriended! I RESPECT THAT SO HARD. He can be very sentimental looking after people's happiness, and he isn't at all afraid of getting mushy and letting everyone know how much he appreciates each one of his friends and why.

He’s also like Terashii in a sense that he’s aware of not having the best voice, but acknowledges that he can bring something else to shine differently from others, instead of aiming to shine harder than others. I respect that mentality so much.

Everyone looks after him like he’s the everyone's Younger Brother figure. In my language, I say “ang sarap niya alagaan”, meaning he’s the type of person you’d LOVE to care for, taking care of him feels good.  He probably has down days due to his childhood and baggage, but I wouldn't mind taking care of him until he feels better. I’d be happy to, honestly.

It’s especially cool that Reiji (my 2nd best BF pick) and Otoya are close and share a brotherly relationship WHICH IS PERFECT because Reiji is the Older Brother of the agency while Otoya’s the Younger Brother of the group. LIKEWISE, Morikubo Showtaro (Reiji’s VA) is like the industry older-brother figure for Terashii too ;A; UWAH!

I feel like he also wont push anything you’re not comfy with, and is willing to let you pace the the relationship and its developments just so u can have ease of mind. While everyone tries to lead the way in the relationship, Otoya's striding beside you.

As a partner, I feel like just the sight of him would lift my spirits up. Just seeing him would make my day at work feel better. He’s so radiantly cheerful in a way that isn’t annoying, and i love that so much. its like if he becomes a BF, and then a husband, you can feel that the relationship stays in a state that charms the inner adolescent in you. It’s like it’s so comforting how youthful he is. And this is such an ironic thing for me because I really tend to like quiet people more, and yet he’s an exception because his "noise” is never annoying, but uplifting. Like if he bugs me while I’m down, I’d HAPPILY "have no choice" but to go with whatever he had in mind, but fondly warmly so, since he wants to make me happy. Y’know how some people say having a dog helps with their depression because of their energy and continuous optimism and constant need for stimulation but also constant goodwill for you? yeah Otoya’s a dang dog. But I feel like if I tell him I’m genuinely socially mentally tired, he’d also love to just settle for a cuddle and man...

He’s the boyfriend who also happens to be your best friend.

Honestly feel like he’s a self-insert of a real life bf. I find Terashii and my IRL partner in him, which is funny bec Terashii voices him, and Terashii is like my partner. BASICALLY EVERYTHING COMES FULL CIRCLE. I like Terashii and Otoya because they have a lot of traits that I’ve come to love in my partner.

Anyway 

...man....yeah. Otoya. Love that guy.

From Terashii’s Unison on March 16th.

Since Terashii likes spats shorts, the staffs made a special corner, “Spats Report”, where Terashii would be wearing two pairs of spats shorts (one for men, and one for women) and then told us how it feels ww

YES, HE TOOK OFF HIS PANTS. And fortunately (or not?) the lower half of the screen was covered ww And Hatori-kun was there to help him wwww

Terashii said that the women’s one was more comfortable, so even after the Spats Report corner has ended, he still wore it until the end of the program – and he didn’t wear his pants back Σ(￣□￣；) Good thing he sat still until the very end… He stood once (but his lower half was covered by the desk) and quickly sat down again, though ( •᷄ὤ•᷅)

At the end of the program, they played Russian roulette, but with sushi. There was one with wasabi among the four. And for your information, Terashii doesn’t like wasabi. Guess who got the one with wasabi wwwww (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o)))
