       Tonks was confused as to how somebody found this phone number but this was the first sign of hate towards her husband ever since she has lived with him. She was almost going to allow herself insult the caller back but the call had ended quickly and Tonks stood there, shocked. What the hell was that? Who the hell called them? 

“Hello?” She quickly asked, changing the sound of her voice ever so slightly to not sound like herself in case the person was still there. Thank you transforming abilities. 

Tonks kept her mouth shut before she hanged up the phone and put a hand to her mouth, trying to calm the boiling of her anger from within. This person had practically threatened her husband, and she does not take that lightly. Remus was not soulless or evil, and he deserved far more than what this idiot thought. Tonks was almost to run a full investigation for a split second before she realized that her son was in the other room, waiting for her to return to build a tower with the blocks he got for his birthday. 

Tonks took a deep breath and said to herself that she would reason her way out from going and giving someone the worst black eye that they have ever experienced in their life to instead smile and go to her son to play with him. As her mother often would point out, one must be graceful and patient when seeking revenge. At least, that is how Tonks interpreted the mother’s word when she was younger and had someone call her a blood traitor for the first time.

       They were on a mission, Jesus. Why did they have to get personal right now? This was the first time they both agreed to go on a mission together ever since he tried to push her away. It had gotten bad, but they were able to save the family and themselves but there was something wrong with him. All those missions he had gone off too changed him a bit. This was most definitely not Remus. It scared her a bit. What had she done to make him this way? Was her confession of love to him so different and awful that he became this way? Tonks’ didn’t want to believe it was her fault, but a small part of her couldn’t help it. After the fighting, they were barely catching a breather. 

Tonks approached the man and put a hand on his shoulder to see if he was okay but he got the wrong idea and suddenly she was being held close to him as a wand pointed at her face. Remus was ready to say whatever spell he needed to get rid of a deatheater. Tonks probably should have given him a minute to recover before she approached but damn, she had never seen this happen. This all happened so quickly, they both had to take a second to realize what was happening. This was the first time Tonks was truly a bit scared of Remus. And he noticed it too. 

When he exclaimed that thing, there was so much emotions in it. Primarily anger but there was that hint of sadness and self-realization. As if he knew he was capable of so much that it would hurt her. He let her go, and started to look around himself at the disaster it seemed like. Tonks simply stood where she was left, feeling the pinch of pain on her heart. No, she should not fear him. He is trying to make her feel things she doesn’t believe. If anything, he should fear her. However, before she was allowed to say anything, he was leaving the room. 

“You’re wrong.” She shouted, her eyebrows furrowing to show that she would and will stand her ground. She stayed where she was, seeing he didn’t turn towards her at all. She decided that if he wants to be feared by her, than he has a whole entire other thing coming at him. “You want to talk about fearing someone, than you should look at yourself. Remus Lupin is far more scared of me and what I bring than I fear his fighting capabilities.” Tonks stated, turning away from him and walking away to exit another way. Once she opened the back kitchen door, she felt herself finally breath. 

This was the most awkward mission she had ever been placed in since she joined the Auror training.
