Hung out with Leeor, a friend of friend who I'd met briefly once at a party in Byron. Maddest guy! We hit up the boxing day sales at Oxford street which was pretty hectic, and checked out the London nightlife where we befriended the craziest bunch of Swedish dudes.
After recovering from our hangover the next day, Leeor and I thought we'd take a stroll and do some sightseeing. Nek minnit we found ourselves doing shots in a bar with our new Swedish friends, and I left a trail of my spew across London.

"It's gunna take a lot to drag me away from yoooouuu"
The worst part about meeting incredible people on your travels, is having to say goodbye with the uncertainty that you’ll ever meet again. I bawled my eyes out at the airport when everyone went their separate ways to board their flights.
It was crazy how quickly a whole month had passed and I was flippin' out over the fact that I was already embarking on my next leg of my journey.
I bless the rains down in Africa.

Lobby party
Since it was our last night together in South Africa/it was that Dec 21 ‘end of the world’ bullshit, what a better way to celebrate than to get ridiculously drunk and have a party in our hostel lobby..
Afterwards a few of us hit the town, which was a pretty interesting experience haha..

The diverse range of animals that can be found in South Africa really fascinates me.. from safari animals to seals and penguins, I was loving able to go animal spotting without visiting a zoo
Was pretty sick to go for a swim and spot random penguins chillin’ nearby!

We ate out at some pretty rad African restaurants while we were in Cape Town
Madame Tatou, a local Ethiopian Restaurant (Elliot had previously mistook it for a tattoo parlour). We tried a variety platter traditional Ethiopian dishes.. I had no idea what half the stuff I ate was, it just tasted good. After we finished eating I found out that one of the dishes I had was ‘warmed meat’ :|
Moyo is a restaurant which boasts a 28m long buffet. Oh shieeet, food coma! Tried some of the game meat available too, including springbok and impala. They had some African performers who asked us to join them and show off our moves.
Mama Africa had a pretty sweet African vibe and had heaps of game meat dishes on the menu (warthog, crocodile kebabs, kudu, ostrich) but I stuck to a vego meal this time. I swear I was still full from the 28m buffet the previous night.

Table Mountain Hangs and Abseil!

Now that we had made it up the mountain, it was time to abseil the badboy.
As if I hadn’t already had enough intense physical activity for the day, while hiking back up after the abseil, one of the girls sprained her foot and I had to run up to get help, whilst getting lost in the mountain wilderness on the way!

Climbing Table Mountain

I remember waking up pretty tired and certainly not in the mood to climb a mountain.. but that’s exactly what I did that day. I climbed Table Mountain, one of the new wonders of the world at 1085m above sea level. Half of our group decided to get the cable car up but I was like 'fvck yeah, challenge accepted’ without realising how treacherous it would really be.
The first stretch was the steepest and most strenuous, especially under the scorching African sun, but luckily I had all that practice hiking in Swaziland beforehand! We refilled our waterbottles with fresh mountain water at a small stream before continuing our ascent up the mountain.
The dramatic change in the higher altitudes (into the clouds!) compared to the sweaty foothills became a bit of a challenge and I may have crawled part of the way, but 3 hours later we had made it the top! :D
