Why is there not more hockey in my feed. There is not enough hockey on my Facebook. There is not enough hockey anywhere. THIS IS MY CHRISTMAS PEOPLE DON’T RUIN THIS FOR ME.

Miracle needs to be #2 on the movies list and we have some perfect advice on “how to love hockey.” You can’t ignore the biggest moment in USA hockey via major motion picture. 

10 things you would tell a new hockey fan?

1. Check contract status/length before you fall in love, buy jerseys or pay for autographs

2. Don’t be a dick to other fans unless they really deserve it. Don’t get upset when you get anon hate from idiots. If you’re a Pens fan, expect hate from Hawks, Caps and Flyers fans.

3. Spend some time watching YouTube videos to learn the rules. Also check out the movies ‘Slapshot,’ 'Mighty Ducks (watch all 3)’ and 'Goon.’

4. Read up on your preferred team a little bit. Spend some time watching team hi lights on YouTube. Know the big moments in your franchise.

5. Pick some players to hate. It makes life fun. Giroux, Ovechkin and Kane are a nice starter pack. Pick some entire teams to hate too. I’ll suggest Flyers, Hawks, Caps, CBJ to start with.

6. Goalies are sacred. They are not to be touched by the opposing team. You can love any of them but Varlamov indiscriminately.

7. Check up on players before you decide to like them. If they’re problematic, drop them like it’s hot. If your gave does something terrible, call them out, don’t sweep it under the rug.

8. It’s fine to hate on a team or player, but do it outside of the tags and be ready to have links/video to defend your opinions. Don’t take the hate too far though. Keep it angry and funny.

9. Don’t worry if someone tries to call you a bandwagoner. They were a new fan too once. Hockey is for everyone. I don’t care how you got here, I’m just glad you’re here.

10. Let it take over your life.

When a player is accused of assaulting a woman, perhaps the team doesn’t have to trot him out, front and center, every time it holds an event. Maybe we don’t need to schedule a bobblehead night for a player accused of raping a woman before the police investigation is completed? It’s possible a trial for domestic battery should be a disqualifier for being named first star that particular week. Currently, the league and teams pretend everything is hunky dory and practically dare anyone to mention accusations against a player. When one does dare question a team’s handling of an accusation, a dedicated hoard of online attack-dog fans routinely threaten and harass the interloper into silence. It works out great for the NHL. From time to time, NHL teams make announcements that they’re “reaching out” to female fans in an attempt to grow the fan base. Women don’t want “ladies nights,” pink jerseys or Hockey 101 sessions with the hottest players. What women do want is to feel that the league and their team values them as much as their male counterparts. That starts with the way the league addresses violence against women.

So, we’re having the bathroom in our 100 year old house renovated and the contractor found these in the ceiling. They are letters to an American GI who was serving in France in 1955 and he has at least three women (at current count, we haven’t finished reading them) writing him love letters from London. Even once he’s back in the States. Monotasker and I are taking sides. I’m #TeamWendy while he’s #TeamHelen. I’m hoping I can get them scanned and put up in the cloud and then maybe track down some surviving relatives. 

TL;DR, this is so cool.

i’m so done with the way girls in twenties are treated. i’m so done with people who literally create timetable for us. 20- 24  find a guy, 24-26 make him propose to you, 27-29 get married. i’m so done. i’m do not want to get 2 a.m texts from my best friend who is freaking out that she is gonna die alone. i do not want see my 20 years old friend wasting her time on some guys who are not even interested in her. i do not want see us falling for every nice guy who does not look creepy. i do not want to see girls get sad or paranoid just bcos they do not fill in the schedule. you are ok. you should enjoy your life at its fullest and one day you will find 10/10 so do not pursue 6 just because you do not want to be single. it is ok and one day you will find someone. do not split your love with people who does not deserve it. keep it for yourself and when time will come you will know. i know it hurts. i know you wish u could just open part of yourself and release the buzzing love. but not every kind of love is romantic. show it to your family, friends, plants, yourself.
