So when one of my besties from school days asks what I think of her new look, as friend who I can say anything to, I told her honestly that she looked really weird. Well what a way to start the day. A little before 9am while taking the kids to school, I bumped into my local librarian. She informed me that as of this morning, Awakening Of A Soul Keeper, is available at the library and the first copy had already been booked out. The library hadn't even opened yet. I remember being a kid and curling up on the sofa watching the snowman cartoon with my mom. Now I get to watch my children as they cuddle on the sofa, drinking hot chocolate and watching the same snowman cartoon. December is always a crazy month even when I'm not releasing a book. But this weekend I got to take time out with my family and decorate the house. There is nothing like sitting by the fire looking at the finished tree. I think my daughter picked the biggest one she could find, not that I'm complaining. Earlier this year I was sitting at my laptop writing a bloody fight scene when my alarm went off reminding me to stop and go pick up my youngest daughter from preschool. A few weeks ago late at night after my family had gone to bed, I sat down with a pen and my final draft in a folder and went through it for last minute changes. Today after my kids left for school a parcel arrived. Inside were my paperbacks. This moment here is what its all about. From a flicker of an idea in my head to a book in my hand. I'm not quite sure what to do. The series of A discovery of witches starts on Friday. Should I start the book first or the series? I read pretty fast and could get through a lot of this before the weekend but should I? Is it better to wait until the season is over then read or skip ahead with the tv show now.
