Stop misgendering the Aeons (and other characters)
Warning: this is somewhat of a ranty post, will probably be pretty long, and it may be completely incomprehensible.
A frustrating trend I have noticed lately, mostly from lore video creators, is the referring of Aeons by gendered pronouns. This is more specifically about Nanook being referred to by he/him, and the occasional referring of Yaoshi by she/her.
I don't know how to say this other than: That contradicts the lore completely. All Aeons are referred to by what I call the 'Aeonic They', which is the neutral pronouns of they, them and theirs, but all in capital letters.
I know that it's probably a very small subsection of people who do this, but it infuriates me to see anyone who specifically studies the lore and make videos on it make such simple mistakes.
This specific text quirk was not present in the game at launch, that I am aware of as someone who has played since day one, but was introduced by the translation/localisation team later. I believe the first time I remember seeing an Aeon referred to as 'THEY' specifically was in 2.0, after Aventurine shows us Robin's body and we have a scene of Sunday talking about Xipe.
My theory as to why this was implemented was that, in Chinese, it's much more obvious when an Aeon is specifically being talked about. In english however, our only neutral pronoun (that is widely used) is they, and most of the time that means multiple people, so the localisers realised that the best way to maintain this distinction that was lost was by using the 'Aeonic They'.
I have legitimately seen people try to argue that Yaoshi is a woman because in the first Fable about The Stars, there's a quote that uses the feminine pronoun 'she'. There is zero evidence that the quote is referring to Yaoshi, and all I have ever seen ingame has used the Aeonic They. Not she, not he, not even it. Just THEY.
I watched a video in which the creator referred to Qlipoth, yes that ball of amber with limbs, as 'he'. What?? I have never seen Aha, Akivili, Nous, Tazzyronth or any of the non-human looking Aeons called men or women, because THEY aren't. These are cosmic beings beyond our comprehension, why the hell would any of them abide to our puny ideas of gender?
I don't think Idrila would even been alive long enough to understand what gender even is, let alone participate in it. Before THEIR ascension, the human(oid? I cannot remember if the were fully human or not) is never referred to by any gendered pronouns in the documents regarding THEIR life.
On a similar note, PomPom is not a boy, they do not have any specified gender anywhere in the game, nor does Cirrus that ghost from Huo Huo's quests. Those two are referred to by 'they', just in lower case, because they are not human, nor are they Aeons.
Mihoyo has made a very conscious decision: None of the Aeons, no matter who they were before, abide by our genders. None of them. (Along with several other beings but that's besides the point really.)
If anyone can provide me with evidence showing otherwise, I will delete this post and eat my words.
(Sorry is this made no sense, I'm just frustrated with the current fandom and their refusal to acknowledge a very simple lore fact, especially as a genderqueer person who as always loved the Aeons for their unashamed non-genders, despite their appearances)

Sometimes a family is a gravity magic wielding recluse writer, a semi-verbal traumatised teenager with a knife, a harpy who runs a delivery service, an artificer with debts to pay, a midwife/pastor trying to escape her responsibilities, an overly self-assured ‘ladykiller’ knight and their cat with one eye and nothing else.
