gablesgreenanne:
âThank you.â Anne replied promptly with a grin before schooling her expression into something much more serious. She could not imagine a life without a wide-scoping imagination, however she did have the misfortune of knowing quite a few people who lived in such a manner. That did not mean it could not be rectified though. Marilla had shown herself to be far more capable than Anne had ever initially thought when she was first adopted. âYou absolutely could, everyone has an imagination, youâre just in a dreadfully dire need of exercising your own. Even if itâs not a fantastical story thereâs so many wonderful places your mind can wander off to. It can become extremely helpful when youâre in a pinch.â Anne would know considering how often she caused some kind of blunder or another.
âMhm.â He nodded, furrowing his brows at her next words. It was hard to think about exercising his imagination after everything he had gone through. He always needed to be alert, he could never stop to daydream. It was dangerous when you had people like Drake on the loose hurting your people. He was sure he could tell his own story here ( it seemed as if no one had heard of the Perdido Beach Anomaly ) and just pretend that it was all make believe, but then again... his expressions and tone of voice would probably give it away. âYeah? What kind of pinch are you talking about?â He questioned.

âNo not amnesia, that would be the absence of memories. Herâs have been changed and replaced. Itâs different.â
âThatâs...â He furrowed his brows, thinking about it. That was weird. He couldnât be too judgmental though, he was sure there were people that wouldnât believe what he had gone through. âThat sucks. I canât imagine having that happen to you.â

the blonde sighed softly. it wasnât fun to not be able to sleep. she wondered if she could sleep a whole night sooner or later. if she only could stop being worried about her little brother. he was fine, she had to say it to herself. his ability made him strong and he could protect himself, and his temper, that was worse than hers âthat sucksâ lauren shook her head ânothing should keep you up at night. sleep is important, but when you canât.. what do you do, right? do you sleep anything?â
âExactly.â He sighed, leaning back. His mom had tried to help him, but there wasnât much that she could do. She would never understand what he had gone through, the stress he had been under for those two years. He still felt partially responsible for the other kids.even if whoever was left was safe now. It was just a burden heâd always carry, he supposed. âNo, I donât... really. A few hours every night. Not enough.â

Sam already had trouble adjusting to life outside of the FAYZ, it didnât help that he was suddenly thrown into an unfamiliar place without any of his friends. Without Astrid. Thankfully, the experience was nothing like the FAYZ... aside from the inhabitants being trapped there. There was internet, phones were working, no one was mutated. At least, not that he knew of. He has spent his few couple days in the city trying to locate anyone he knew but it seemed like he was stuck there by himself. He was going to have to get used to being on his own after years of depending on and being around other people.Â
There had been numerous times where Sam had seen someone with blonde hair and instantly mistook them for Astrid, which is why he hesitated when he saw the figure sitting by the water. She looked like Astrid, but so did a lot of other people. He didnât want to embarrass himself again but he also didnât disregard her. What if it really was her? What if he really wasnât alone here? He was most definitely staring, waiting for any indication that it truly was her. That it wasnât just wishful thinking again. He didnât realize that he was moving towards her until she turned to look at him, causing him to freeze.Â
âAstrid.â He let out a laugh at the confirmation that it was indeed her, a wide smile breaking out across his face as he moved towards her. âI canât believe youâre actually here.â He cupped her face in his hands, pressing his lips against hers.
Throughout everything, Sam had always been her constant. Despite the fragmented shards their relationship became at times, mere kids forced to be the adults of society, despite the arguments, the fighting, he had always been there. In the end of it all, they were the survivors, they could heal together, for once be normal, in a world that didnât threaten to tear them apart at each moment. In Washington it was different, she felt sheâd been thrust back into a FAYZ of sorts, just in reverse, this time without him, without everyone. Least there was safety here. Order, food, and no mutated children and animals. Still, sheâd come too far to adjust and enjoy this place easy.
Blonde hair hanging neatly against her back, fingers dug against the raw particles of the sand, rough but beautiful to her fingers, a moment of silence as she looked forward at the lapping foam tipped waves. Just to see them move was nice in contrast to the stillness once watched at the sea. It gave her peace coming here, sometimes she needed those slivers of quiet, no disturbance. Wasnât often people came here in the earlier hours of the morning, but sleep had been restless. Hence her hues flickering up, piercing blue staring with an alert nature as footsteps were heard, hands clenching ready, past instinct fighting through.
âSam-â Eyes caught side of the male, a swallow jutting like glass on her throat, scarcely daring to believe it was him, kismet rife here. Lips twisting upwards, legs scrambled upwards, scattered wisps of the sand pushed away as she stood, breathing tight. Religion had been swept away from here, there was no one up there for her to pray to, but she still had hope, hope that pounded fiercely for this to be him.

Luna stared at the other for a moment, the boy looked like Neville and if she didnât think about it too much on it she would have assumed it was him. Luna however knew the difference between the original and someone who just looked like him.  âI have this friend, i care about her a lot but someone stole her thoughts and replaced them.â
âWhat?â After everything that happened in the fayz, youâd think that Sam would believe that anything is possible but someoneâs thoughts being replaced? That sounded like a plot from The X-Files. âDo you mean like... amnesia? I-I donât think thereâs any way that you can fix that.â

âUh, what?â Sam was taken aback when the stranger called out to him, glancing around to ensure that she actually was speaking to him before making his way over. Itâs not like he wasnât used to people asking him about their problems, it was something that occurred frequently while they were stuck in the fayz but he had never had anyone he didnât know ask him anything. âWhatâs your problem?â
Luna was laying upside down on a chair, her glasses struggling to stay on her face. Her multicolored galaxy socks flexed back and forth as she thought.  âDang it.â She grumbled flipping herself back around with a light giggle at the head rush.  âI need to fix this, I can fix this I just need to find a new way to look at the problem⌠Oh!â Luna spun around in her chair.  âHey you! yes you, Can I ask your perspective on a problem cause flipping mine upside down just isnât working.â

Was that [TARJEI SANDVIK MOE]? Oh no no, that was just [SAM TEMPLE], a [CANON CHARACTER] from [GONE]. They are [SEVENTEEN] years old and [ARE] aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can't stray away from this city for long.Â
how long has your character been here
a week.
what is your characterâs job
he works concessions at the movie theatre.
where has your character been pulled from in their fandom
a year after the barrier came down.
has any magic affected your character
nope.
other information
so for those of you who donât know what gone is, it was a book series abt everyone 15+ disappearing and a barrier appearing around the town. some of the kids had powers (sam had the power to shoot light out of his hands & create these little light thingies heâs called âsammy sunsâ), yada yada. he discovered that he had a secret fraternal twin brother who was.... Not the greatest. a bunch of traumatizing stuff happened. they had to do a lot of hard stuff to survive. in their universe, theyâre all famous bc of what happened. like... everyone knows who they are. if you want a more detailed explanation hmu, Â
heâs had some trouble adjusting to... regular life again. back in the FAYZ (as it was called by the kids there), he was sorta pushed into a leadership role and people looked to him (as well as his girlfriend astrid and some of their friends) for answers. heâs thankful to not have to be that person anymore but itâs hard to move on from that. especially when heâs constantly being contacted by news outlets or random people in general to ask about everything that happened. heâs more so interested in just forgetting that it happened.

Sam: Edilio, please keep an eye on Quinn today. Heâs gonna say something to the wrong person and get himself punched.
Edilio: Sure, Iâd love to see Quinn get punched.
Sam: Try again.
Edilio: I will stop Quinn from getting punched.
Sam: Correct.

Now that was something Sam understood completely. Although, it hadnât been something he had experienced in a year. He had no reason to worry about his fellow fayzians now that it was all over. They were all safe with their families, there was no more Drake or Gaiaphage. âYeah, I have.â He nodded, focusing on his hands shaking himself out of his thoughts. He couldnât go there. âI canât really sleep anymore either, but thatâs...for different reasons now.â He finally looked back to her. âWho are you worried about?â
âhave you ever been so worried about someone that you barely can sleep?â lauren asked no-one in particular. why didnât she go with her brother to make sure he would be alright? she barely remember what went through her mind that day. maybe she was too shocked that he went with the others, so she had no time to think of what happened right in front of her eyes âi donât think i have slept on almost two weeks and iâm exhausted. every time i close my eyes⌠â she paused and sighed, slowly shaking her head âwhatever. nothing helpsâ she mumbled.

Sam was a little impressed, although he hadnât expected the girl to tell him a whole story. He wasnât even sure how he ended up there, he was never that big on reading, but he was still holding onto the hope that there would be someone he knew there. Astrid, Dekka, Diana, and Edilio were the main four he was hoping for. If he was there, Astrid and Diana had to be too... right? They did live together after all. Or at least that was his thought process but it had been a week and there was still no sign of any of them. âI... canât imagine that actually.â He laughed, scratching the back of his head. âThat is quite the imagination you have though. I could never think up anything like that.â
âThereâs nothing like a beautiful scenery to provide the most wonderful inspiration for a story.â Anne sighed a notebook clutched to her chest as she looked up at the Library. Washington D.C was unfortunately lacking in some beautiful greenery. A park or garden here or there was just fine but it lacked the magical lushness of her home. Back there she could wander around and feel like someone plucked out of a storybook, here everything was just much more structured. Anne however was very educated in the art of imagination and was a true expert in finding flashes of beauty. âThe Library of Congress was partially based on the reading room in The British Museum Library.â She explained excitement sparking in her eyes. âCan you imagine anything more wonderful than sitting down with an old book looking up into that rounded ceiling and knowing someone out there in a distant country may be doing the same thing thinking of here? Your minds and hearts just bonded in that moment looking at something so mesmerisingââ She cut herself off with glee as a new idea came to mind. ââthen if you were even reading the same book? Oh, how romantic. You could be soulmates, having had met in previous lives meant to wander across the world finding your other half, connected by places based upon each other. Every time growing so close in spirit despite how distant your feet may be. Carrying that very same book from the library knowing that one day youâd stumble upon your match.â She sighed pressing a hand against her heart. âThen the day you finally meet, youâre oh so distressed because youâve been caught in a rainstorm the pages of the book soaked through and curling. However tragical it might appear an umbrella suddenly covers your head, you look up and then itâs them. Offering the very same copy.â Â

It was strange. Not that Sam wasnât accustomed to strange things happening, considering everything that had occurred in the FAYZ. This was just different. It had been a year since everything that had happened, he thought everything was going to be normal (aside from his nightmares) but of course things could never be normal. Something else had to happen to throw him off. Although it had been a week since he had been transported to this strange place, it was still hard to get used to. The lack of his friends, mainly, is what made it so hard. He had grown to depend on them since the FAYZ. He was broken out of his thoughts by the sight of a girl collapsing, it brought him back. The amount of kids who would turn to him for comfort because they missed their parents or because they were scared... of Drake, of the Gaiaphage, of... everything strange that was happening. Next thing he knew, he was crouched at the girlâs side. âHey, hey. Just take deep breaths, youâre okay.â
Fiddling with the white streak in her hair, Rhaenys had dealt with crippling anxiety since arriving in Washington. Loud noises, were one of her triggers as they brought her back to the sack of Kings Landing. Crashes, fireworks, and repair shops. They were all main triggers for her.  Today she was trying to face one of them by walking by the auto shop near her home. The metal on metal clanking often made her think of sword fights. Times sheâd watch her father spar in the courtyard or worse her guards trying to protect her. As she got closer, her breathing began to stagger as she sprinted passed it.  âThatâs a lot better then usual.â She murmured trying to calm her heart beat, but her legs gave way and she collapsed burying her head in her hands. Trying not to break down into tears.
