Customer had some water damage from several roof leaks on their ceilings. We had to repair one patch in the hallway, the others were previously repaired in the kitchen. Remodel Phase 1 Complete

Went back to the remodel job today. Put the final touches on it with some touch-ups and exterior doors painting. When we started this project, we were going with the same color scheme. Our customers figured if we're painting, why not a complete overhaul. They headed up to Benjamin Moore in Brighton for a hand. We decided to do some samples and they decided to got with Ballet White for the T1-11, Hazy Skies for the trim and Fresh Brew for the shutters. It definitely transformed this home and modernized it. The last paint crew used a rubber paint. These types of products seem to rot your house from the inside out. You can also get lots of blistering and when scraping it can come off in thick large sections. Water gets behind this coating and that's why this occurs. Also, when repainting we had to fight the weather. With this rubber coating, the new coat of paint basically sits on top and takes a long time to dry. Makes it hard to paint this surface when rain is in the forcast. Completed this small barn door job. Using a gray primer ensures good coverage for dark colors, especially black. We used Benjamin Moore Fresh Start gray primer, Scuff-X Matte black on the barn doors, and Scuff-X Satin White on the door jamb. Painting an already assembled barn door can be tricky if you don't know what you're doing.
