Does anyone know why it appears that so many more conservative minded people are fans of KOTLC?? I’ve known of many conservative families whose children were OBSESSED with it. And when the latest book came out and featured two gay characters (who were there for about two sentences), there were dozens of whiny reviews complaining about it, so much so to the point that the book (at least the last time I checked) has only 2 stars on Amazon.

I will be drawing the KOTLC parents as teenagers Because I am a biased person I've already sketched and colored three pairs of parents (aka 6 adults turned back in time to their peak cringe teenage years)

Not their levels are not really indicative of the ages they're supposed to be or anything besides who I think is like the oldest of the adults???? if that makes sense??? the higher the level the older I think they are like when compared to each other (whatever, it makes sense to me and that's what matters <3) I just didnt wanna draw them all in the same level color

NOW this brings me to the probably more anticipated poll heavy side of this massive project; Who is going to be teased next?

Green is for who is already sketched and flat colored, yellow is who i for sure am drawing next but the reds (plus Tiergan) are who gets to be voted in. Will I draw all of them? I'm not sure. We have descriptions of few of these people and virtually nothing about Jensi and Rayni's parents (I think Maruca's mom had a brief appearance, im not sure) For those asking where Gisela is...........I'm already potentially drawing Cassius and the Songs

Yes these little ID photos will be how I show my process but we will eventually get full body images I just figured this was quicker to show and gave me more time to sketch and think about designs

been thinking recently about the control of information in kotlc. it's only mentioned in passing, but the elves ban books (p. 287). several classes--advanced history, on the other intelligent species--are restricted to the elite levels only. lumenaria has a secret database of records. the oldest records are largely illegible to the modern population w/o significant time/effort/resources. councillors keep memories in caches and erase them from their minds. we're starting to really get into the flaws of caches, but the rest has been like this subtle, lurking menace beneath the whole story. but it's simultaneously overt in how desperately Sophie is always searching for answers. and yes, some of that is because the Neverseen are actively working against her, but she's just as often running up against information control by the council and black swan. about pyrokinetics, the plague, vespera, nightfall, stellarlune, elysian. it's not the story's only message, but it feels like we're building to an explicit condemnation of censorship and revisionism. the story's starting to say louder and louder you cannot decide who is allowed to know what, you are not arbitrator of what's right, of what's important, of what's dangerous. and trying does nothing but harm the people you claim to protect. kotlc is, among other things, a story against information control. and i'm just really curious to see where it all goes.

Personally, if I was into the whole reality shifting thing, I would not attempt to do pyrokinesis training with Fintan. I'm sorry, but nearly half the pyrokinetics who have ever manifested have died while training with him. He does not have a good survival rate. Find a reality where you're a polyglot or something.

Character who's a third wheel, but in the same way that a tricycle has three wheels. You technically might be able to remove him, but it's going to be a lot less stable and a lot more likely to result in someone's death if you do.
