I really enjoyed this project it was very challenging but very engaging. I’m glade I managed to make a design that is interactive and fun. Iv learnt a lot about electronics and look forward to working with them in the future.

My two personalitiy traits for this design were fidgety this was showen by bouncing and vibration of the design. The second was calm/relaxed my design is all curves to show how easy going I am.

Made all my parts and started testing the design without actually putting it all together. This was to make sure everything was working.
I had to go buy more batteries as my first ones ran out from to much testing.

My idea was starting to come along nicely, but I decided to change the wood to plaster as the was standing out to much

These are the different iteration of my balls. I went from a ping pong ball to a 3d printed ball with copper wire but realised it wasn’t a good enough connection so I printed off the 3rd and bottom ball which worked that best.

I then drew up a final plan and hoped it wouldn’t be to heavy to vibrate.

I struggled a lot with my design as I’ve never worked with electronics before there was a lot of trial and error. Original I wanted to have a wodden body but I quickly realised that a wooden body would have to be very wide to fit all the components in it and still have a stong layer of wood on the outside. I decided to use a piece of pvc pipe as it was very strong and light. This photo is one of the first designs where I was still holding on to the idea of wood.

Original I was going to have the motor spin a ball using a wheel, but when I did my second experiment I realised that with enough vibration by ball span on it’s own.
After siting back and just thinking about how to make my design more interesting I realised I could make the ball connect the circuit which would start the vibration.

First plans for my design, I knew I wanted to try and do something different as all the examples I’d had seen were very similar. I was really inspired by a design shown in the lecture where it would only work when it was turned upside down. I wanted my design to be interactive like that

I made a second cast and added bluetack around all the weak points. This worked a lot better but still leaked slowly over time. I had to check on it regularly and seal up and leaks with more bluetack.
Next time I will definitely like to practice mixing the resin more and make a more practical cast.

I added a resin and left it to dry, however my cast turned out to be not as sealed as I thought it would be.

I then measured a cast and covered it in vasalean. After a lot of tape and rubber bands I thought I had sealed up my design nicely
