bill activates a sort of pseudo-cute aggression in me that makes me want to roll him up into a ball and bounce him against a wall

generally not super into shapeshifter characters being revealed to have like a singular True Form. isnt it much more interesting to imagine a creature so fluid and ever-changing that even they cant identify any one body as the "true" self, or simply dont see the need to?

is this you? yes. this one too? yes. but then which one is the real you? define "real" define "you" theyre all me. even the ones that are someone else? especially those.

rewatched society of the blindeye and was thinking about this the entire time

there's really no way to make the way the map/geographical feature changes between Zelda games make sense, but I DO like to think that the Lost Woods canonically moves around. Like, it's a magical forest with an even more magical sword within that occasionally just disappears and sprouts up somewhere entirely different, and no one can quite articulate why the forest that's SURELY always been there (after all, they don't just grow in a day) feels like it's so new.

i really do think the game is setting up for everything to come crashing down around susie as she realizes all her friendships were "fake".

lancer is a darkner, he only exists to be subservient to lightners and make them happy - he has no choice.

ralsei is prophesied to be friends with her - it's predestined, it isn't real.

kris is possessed, nothing they ever did together was of their own volition, they were forced to be her friend.

noelle just has a crush on her; she doesn't like her, she just likes the idea of her.

of course, her friendships AREN'T fake, but she's not going to believe that. as soon as she thought lancer was betraying her, she put up her walls again and shut him out. imagine that, cranked up to 11, times 4.

she'll probably lash out against everyone. but they'll eventually get through to her.
