🔧✨ OPTIRATCH AUGUST PROMPTS ✨🔧

You wanted sparks. You wanted yearning. You wanted Ratchet threatening to throw a wrench at Optimus’s face mid-confession ( that one's mostly me ) WELL. Here we go.

Each week of August, we’ve got a new prompt to help you channel the chaos, comfort, and complicated feelings that come with shipping the Prime and the Medic™.

🧁 Week 1: 1 – 7 August — Sparklinghood Friends

Ah yes, baby bots with big feelings and bigger sparks. Whether you imagine them sparring in the training arena, sneaking out after curfew, or sharing a datapad and a dream, this week is for childhood friends to battlefield partners content. Bonus points if someone already had a crush and absolutely repressed it.

🪴 Week 2: 8 – 14 August — Post-War Retirement

Finally. Peace. Now what? Ratchet has Opinions about interior decorating, and Optimus still tries to strategize his grocery runs. Whether it’s quiet mornings, grumpy garden wars, or awkward attempts at hobbies, give us your soft domestic aftermath fluff (or angst—we know you can’t help yourselves).

🔥 Week 3: 15 – 21 August — Injured During Battle

Listen, someone had to get blown up, and now someone else has to hover anxiously and whisper things they’ll pretend never happened later. This week is for the medbay dramatics, battlefield confessions, and that one stubborn mech who refuses to rest but absolutely melts when his partner fusses over him.

💔 Week 4: 22 – 31 August — Pre-Relationship Yearning

Ah, the golden era of emotionally constipated longing. The lingering glances. The almost touches. The "If I tell him how I feel it’ll ruin everything and also maybe I’ll die." vibes. Whether you go sweet, angsty, or feral, this prompt is for all the slowest of slow burns — before anything was said out loud, but everything was already there.

Pick your favorite. Do one, do all four, mix and match, or throw in your own take — we’re just excited to see what you create.

🔧 OPTIRATCH MONTHLY: FAQ 🔧

❓ What is Optiratch Monthly?

Optiratch Monthly is a month-long celebration of our favorite power couple: Optimus Prime × Ratchet. Whether you ship them romantically, platonically, or somewhere delightfully in-between, this is your space to create, share, and scream about them with fellow fans.

🗓️ How does it work?

In the last week of every month, we’ll drop new prompts for the next month ( it might be announced earlier if admin's uni leaves them alone ) — that’s four prompts for each week in total across the month. You can respond to any or all of them, in any order, at any time!

Prompts will be flexible and open to interpretation. Write angst, fluff, war-torn intimacy, domestic nonsense, hurt/comfort, or just Ratchet yelling at Optimus while patching him up (again). 

You can also submit prompts via asks! 

✍️ What kind of content can I create?

All kinds! Here's what's welcome:

Fanfiction ( no word count )

Fanart

Playlists

Moodboards 

Meta/analyses

Headcanons

Shitposts and memes

AMVs or edits

Anything else that celebrates our beloved war husbands

SFW and NSFW content are both welcome — just tag appropriately, so everyone stays comfortable and happy.

📚 How Do I Participate? 

Create your content and share it on Tumblr! If you’re posting on AO3, be sure to drop the link in your Tumblr post as well. Don’t forget to add your work to the Optiratch Monthly AO3 collection so we can all cry about them in one place later.   — we’ll be sharing the link to that soon.

When posting, tag this blog in the body of your post and use the hashtag #OptiratchMonthYear (for example: #OptiratchAugust2025) in your tags so we don’t miss it!

An Official Masterlist will also be posted on our account at the end of every month. 

If we haven’t reblogged your post within 24 hours, don’t hesitate to send us a message with the link! Tumblr’s tagging system can be a bit temperamental, and we’d never ignore anyone’s work on purpose.

⏰ Do I have to post on specific days?

Nope! The prompts will drop weekly, but you can post any time during or even after August. This is meant to be fun, not homework. Be gentle with yourselves — even Ratchet would tell you to take a break (probably).

👀 Can I post something outside the prompts?

Absolutely. Optiratch Monthly is a celebration, not a cage. If you want to post bonus content, alternate prompt takes, or wild AU ideas, go for it! Just use the event tags, mention us let your imagination roll out.

🛑 Are there rules or restrictions?

Just a few basics:

Be respectful of others’ content and boundaries.

Tag everything clearly, especially content with mature or triggering themes.

No ship hate, character bashing, or fandom drama.

This event supports creators, and the time and work they put into their craft. As such, we will not be accepting or featuring any AI submissions.

This is a space for Optiratch positivity (and the occasional meltdown).

YES! Collabs are encouraged! Writer-artist duos, co-writers, beta-reader teams — we love to see it.

I imagine that after what happened with Orion, the moment the team finds out that Sari is half-Cybertronian, Ratchet will immediately forbid Sari from using the key on herself. This is because if she were to upgrade, it would do the same thing to her as to Orion: she would receive combat upgrades at the cost of no longer being a child, losing the opportunity to properly enjoy her childhood. It's likely that Orion himself will miss being a Sparkling (note: I'm imagining a headcanon in which Mikasa Ackerman is named after a battleship; Orion is named after the Autobot repair ship "Orion," which is the codename for Omega Supreme's alt mode).Posted: If in the series, the Allspark Key ran out of power when Sari upgraded (mainly because it was more of a power transfer), then why didn't the same happen to Orion?Postscript 2: Not only do I imagine Orion with his weapons from his previous life, but I imagine him as if he were Blue Beetle, having a wide arsenal of weapons (except for the ability to fly), I even have in my head an Orion vs Lockdown battle, in the style of the Jaime Reyes vs. Kanjar-Ro fight in the series "Batman: The Brave and the Bold"

Let’s just say the reason why the key wasn’t drained is cause the power wasn’t fully transfered, take note that Orion’s frame post transfer resembles his Orion Pax frame from tfp

And NOT the Prime frame

If the key’s power was fully used on him he would resemble what he looked like in tfp more.

Plus at this phase in his frame he doesn’t have any arsenal of weapons, no blasters, no blades, not even the battle mask, his frame is still underdeveloped still has room to grow, he’ll just need another boost of allspark energy to achieve his full capacity, and trust me that would come, simply not from the key
