I think in the same way there's a 90/10 rule with horror and comedy (horror works best when it's 90% horror and 10% comedy and vice versa) there's a 90/10 rule for some relationships in fiction that's like. The thing I don’t get about critics of The Pitt shipping are people being like “I don’t want the show to become Gray’s Anatomy”

Because I seriously doubt most of us in the fandom for these ships want that either! We want the slow burn and the yearning, not immediate hook ups or interpersonal drama taking the main focus of the show itself - this is literally the point of fanfiction.

My big formative fandom was The X-Files and I waited until season 7 for Mulder and Scully to kiss, I can handle subtext and glances being most of canon.

(That said I would not be opposed to a post-shift gala in a later season where we got a smooch or two)

Samira looks forward, she’s open and optimistic and fearless but crashes down when the adrenaline wears off. And Jack is on the edge, he’s full of grief and gripping so hard onto hope, giving and giving: and here they meet.

Hoping, taking care of everyone but themselves and connecting over the thrill of the E.R and saving lives through skill and heart. She’ll give him hope and he’ll push her skills.

also, and i know fandom is by nature full of some very young people, but y’all have got to get normal about divorce i’m begging. like it’s fictional characters and shipping and it doesn’t matter but also. divorce is great!no-fault divorce is a civil rights issue for a reason!!
