actually anybody can be lydia deetz because she symbolizes anyone who has ever felt alone or like an outsider whether it’s in their own personal circle of friends or if they’re totally alone. lydia deetz isn’t an aesthetic or a core, she’s a manifestation of a teen angst and the constant fear of never being seen or heard. she represents depression. not because she wears black or is introverted, but because she suffered major loss in her life, couldn’t handle a massive change so quickly, and had suicidal thoughts (almost taking action). lydia deetz can be anybody you know, because everybody is suffering, whether it’s visible or not.
