I love the AFTG characters and their silly interest like Andrew canonically likes to watch musicals with Bee, Kevin is down bad for history, Neil thinks math is fun. They’re just so human I love them

It comes out that Andrew and Neil live togheter, the Exy world goes crazy over it and a lot of people start questioning the nature of their relationship. Here is a list of things Andrew has answered to reporters when asked about it

neil's sexuality is so interesting and complex, i love it so so so much. he doesn't swing. he has trauma from his mom trying to beat all interest in women out of him. he experiences a degree of attraction to women but doesn't feel anything kissing them. he jerks off sometimes and basically sees it as system maintenance. it never would have occurred to him to be attracted to andrew if andrew didn't bluntly say he'd blow him and then later kiss him. he doesn't think to initiate anything sexual, it just doesn't occur to him to do so, andrew has to cue him in and then he'll drop everything to make out. he still doesn't swing, it's just andrew.

Every time I reread aftg I’m struck by the fact that Neil and Andrew both hate their cruel smiles. They both, multiple times, raise their hands to scratch the smiles off their faces.

Andrew, because it’s a high smile, because he’s fighting inside his brain and screaming that it’s NOT FUCKING FUNNY/AMUSING but his medication forcing him into finding it so. He never does that when he’s sober.

Neil, because it’s his father’s smile. Because it IS his natural smile, and he fucking hates it.
