Tagging info

Tagging by masculine or feminine attributes

All names will be sorted into #masculine names, #feminine names, and #gender neutral names. Both feminine and masculine are culturally defined and have and will continue to shift. I will be sorting all of the names here into current cultural contacts with full awareness that it may shift overtime. This is mostly to make names easier to find as most people have an idea of how at least name wise masculinity and femininity are defined. But don’t worry if you want themed names or alphabetical names you’ll be able to find them as we have other tags.

Tagging by alphabet

All names relating to a starting letter will be tagged with the letter they start with followed by names. For example if I had a list that was names that started with them I would tag it #m names. I don’t plan on tagging starting letters for any posts that are exclusively one letter based as I don’t want to clutter those tags with other names.

Tagging by theme

Now this one is slightly harder to standardize as I can’t just have four tags for the multitude of themes that I might be making lists for. However every term will be followed by names so if you want to search up spring names or cute names or names that originate from nature or animal based names you could search it. As I know everyone thinks differently and gravitates towards different search terms when searching for a certain topic I might give multiple tags to one post just for ease of searching.

Names by origin

This one might be even harder to categorize than any of the other tags. Now if you’re interested enough in names to be looking at a name blog you might have a passing knowledge of linguistics. Certain names come from certain languages and cultures that might be more clear-cut but a lot of names have been swapped and modified over centuries throughout many many places so of course I will try to see the origins of names but take it with a grain of salt as a language far far away could also have that name. I plan to tag these names from and then insert the country like #names from Russia or I might broaden it a bit #names from Europe but most the time I plan to do both.

Personal tags

Personal tags will help keep more personal base and let’s plan to post separate while also helping to highlight names that I personally really enjoy. The tag that I plan to use are, #Harlow finds it pretty for names I find aesthetically pleasing, #Harlow finds it interesting  for names that interest me whether it be the definition or stories behind it, #Harlow wants to talk is for more laid-back text me his posts that are possibly more personal, #the librarian speaks is the announcements tag, and all posts like this will be tagged with #info post and #intro post
