The “Ekaterina” Corset was inspired by John Singer Sargent’s “Madame X” and Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring”. Nelson Shanks painted the strap of the corset to emulate the “Madame X” painting.

Nelson Shanks painted Keira Chaplin and his studio model in our “Ekaterina” Corset. The Painting was exhibited at the Russian Academy of Art in Moscow.

Nelson has painted H.R.H Diana, Princess of Wales, His Holiness, John Paul II, and Luciano Pavarotti, among others.

“It is interesting to imagine where the corset will be in five, 10 or even 100 years, and wonder if people looking at the painting by Shanks will speculate about its past”. - Rosemary Feitelberg
