The First International West Lake Documentary Film Festival will be held in association with China Academy of Art from April 20 to April 22. The theme of the Festival is “I, Documentary, Fact.” 200 celebrated directors, scholars, and guests from all over the world will assemble in Hangzhou.

Wu Haiyan, China's top fashion designer, is currently (2008) vice President of China National Garment Association, vice dean, professor, doctoral supervisor of dying clothing department in China Academy of Art. Using silk as her key language to enrich Chinese modern life,  she created The Oriental Country of Silk: Second Chapter•Time-Honoured Hefang Street in 2006.These artworks were collected by China National Silk Museum.

Wang Shu & Lu Wenyu, Wencun Village Project in Zhejiang province.

In 2012, Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu first came to this small village and he found about forty transitional farmhouses which can be date back to Ming and Qing dynasty here. Wang Shu persuaded villagers not to build villas in western style and accepted his design. ‘The new village can’t separate with the old village, but should grow up from it , that is best form of new Wencun’ said Wang Shu. After designing and building for three years, we can finally see the new Wencun in our own eyes. By doing this, Wang Shu wants to gradually achieve his dream, that is giving these traditional Chinese villages a new life.
