What You Will Find On My Tumblr: I give fairly detailed information on the beliefs of Apostolics/Pentecostals. Bible Studies. Messages. Encouragement. Bible Verses. etc. Most of my posts are lengthy reading but contain all you should need for a firm foundation on doctrine, that being said I do not put every scriptural source in all of my posts as most of which have so much scripture that I find it to be counter productive in listing them all. I use enough to make the point and reach a doctrine standard which is usually 3-5 firm examples backed up with scripture, God's character and the way He presents Himself in His word, Greek, Aramic, and Hebrew original text references, and Jewish tradition which fills in many blanks as well. I feel pushing one topic too much can often lead to the reader to build a wall against a dogmatic tone or else get bored and abandon the read all together. My blogs are much shorter than those you'll find online typically and cut straight to the point in most cases. I typically personalize it as most will in order to present human experience and examples for relevance. I would love to answer any questions you might have. I will answer to the best of my ability and get back to you usually within the same day of your question; if not with an answer than with something letting you know I'm interested in helping. A Little About Me: I am a One God Apostolic out of Bald Knob, AR. I've been baptized in Jesus Name. I have received the gift of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues. I do my best to live a holy and consecrated life for the Lord. I am looking for the coming our God. I feel a calling on my life and am working toward that goal. That's a little background in my doctorine. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Don't hesitate. It's always better to ask than to move on in ignorance.

Hi there. I’m not a Christian, but there are some girls at my university that I’m kind of mutual friends with who are members of a local Apostolic church. They are hosting an event Wednesday night in their dorm for their “close friends” and I was invited to go. On the private invite it said to not forget to bring a Bible, so I suspect it’s a religious event. When I mentioned I’m not a Christian and asked about this they said “don’t worry about it, you’ll be fine”. Do you know what this could be?
It sounds like a bible study to me. Don't be afraid. They probably just want to discuss things. It can be very therapeutic. Have fun.

Hi there. My UPCI church has recently baptized a large number of guys from the local high school into our church. The latest was about a month ago, the oldest a year. They have adapted well however they are having some issues with the church standards. Basically most of these guys are wearing shorts and short sleeves when our standards call for long pants and long sleeves. How should this be handled?
It's a shepherds job to lead. Sheep do not lead sheep. Allow your pastor to handle it. You just be an example. Trying to get new people to understand a standard can a lot of times push them away. You wear the standard and then when they ask you, tell them why YOU wear long sleeves and pants. I would do my research if I were you. A simple "Because God wants it." Will not work in this Why generation.

The Lords Prayer: Jesus says to "prayer like this" not literally the exact words but It's a formula of how to pray.
1: "Our father which art in Heaven" - Acknowledging God (also note that he uses the word "father" in attempt to appeal to God on a personal level).
2: "Hollowed be thy name" - Praising God for who he is in the most essence form possible by literally his name. Also pointing toward personal. (Odd Jesus would say his name is holy knowing that his name is Jesus ;) the only name given by which we must be saved.)
3: "Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven" - Acknowledging God's power. He rules all of Heaven and Earth. It's all His kingdom so we're glorifying the fact that he alone is ruler of it all. A push toward oneness that God alone is capable of it all. It makes him feel good.
4: "Give us this day our daily bread" - Asking God for what you NEED and also bread denotes the word of God. As in spiritual food. But I think this is also allowing us to ask God for the things we need in our life.
5: "Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors" - You're given an advocate with the father. Were able to seek forgiveness directly from him. But there is a subtle condition "as we forgive our debtors." The bible says you'll be judge the way that you judge. ;) food for thought.
6: "Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil." - Seeking spiritual assistance in our day to day lives. (Doesn't really point toward a once saved always saved mind set does it?)
7: "For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen" - Re-ackowledging the glory of God and giving him praise again. We begin and close with praise to God. Remember also amen means "and so let it be." Or "may it come to past." A continuance of Gods glory even after prayer.
Notice a few things. We give glory more than making requests. Prayer isn't an amazon wish list. It's a conversation with God. It's mending the fall of man.
Jesus gave us a formula for how to prayer. When I pray I ackowledge God and glorify him first. I try to appeal to him as my personal friend and family. I ask for what I need and sometimes what I want. I ask for forgiveness. I pray for others especially the ones that have done me wrong. And I glorify God some more.
I hope this helps someone with their prayer life. It might give them a guide to praying. Praying is personal so I want to just say I am absolutely not telling you how to pray. I'm telling you how Jesus said to pray. And its not reciting anything it's just a foundation for your personal unique prayer to the one true God, Jesus Christ the almighty. God bless!
Great answer AAP!
Do you think it is incorrect to pray a prayer that has been already written? Like those found in the Book of Common Prayer? Or to follow a certain rite written on a prayer. Please take this next prayer as an example:
There is nothing wrong with saying a written prayer, as long as it is directed to God, and fulfills the requirements of the Scriptures. People often use the Psalms as prayers all the time.
However, the problem arises when people quote these prayers, but do not actually believe what they are saying, or believe that the written prayer is a talisman or more than it is.
For example: the Sinner’s Prayer.
People recite this prayer and ##Presto-Change-O## they are now saved. They believe it because they are told that happened. But the Bible, which trumps any other prayer authority, tells us that the process of Salvation is not “The Sinner’s Prayer, but Repentance, Baptism in Jesus Name, the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of Speaking in Other Tongues, and obedience to God’s Word on our daily lives.
Likewise, the Hail Mary prayer is not acceptable, as it does not address God, our Father, but a human being.
See Matthew 6:9-13. Jesus’s example of how we ought to pray.

What's the difference between the UPCI and the ALJC (two AP denominations)?
They're both very similar. I've heard that the ladder is more ministerial. You'll find the same standards, music, worship, etc which will vary per church as no two church is the exact same just like no two people are the exact same. I go to an independent Apostolic Pentecostal church myself. It's small which I love.

What defines a true Christian? How can one truly live for Christ daily?
By keeping his word. John 14:15 KJVSIf ye love me, keep my commandments.Thats my simple explanation. My broader explanation would be Acts 2:38 1. Believe that God exists Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created..." If you can believe that then the rest of the book is easy.2. Understand why you need him and the fall of man Genesis 3:6 the first disobedience to Gods word Genesis 3:24 the result of that disobedience to Gods word which caused them to suffer, die, and be away from God. The goal is end that separation. You need God for that.3. Understand who God is. Jesus Christ. (John 8:24)4. Repent Acts 2:385. Be baptized in Jesus name Acts 2:38, Acts 4:126. Receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38, Romans 8:9, John 3:5) accompanied by the evidence of speaking in tongues (A. Luke 24:47 > B. Acts 2:1-39 or specifically 2:1-5, 2:37-39)7. Live for God with action. Actively live for God. Grace saves but faith is accompanied by works. Without works you'll die in sin. Bc faith without works is dead. (Romans 12:1, James 2:17,26, Romans 6:15) Thats it! Lol after you have the fundamentals living for God is who you become. You're more than a Christian. Your whole life changes. Your desires. Your dreams. Your ideas of what life is about. You have a destination and a means. You have direction and tasks. A goal if you will. The way you talk may change. The way you treat others. Your life should be enforced by yourself to carry out in action, the word of God. Everyone is fulfilling prophecy whether they realize it or not. Just make sure you're on the right side of prophecy ;) feel free to ask any other questions you may have. Maybe there are things you wanted specifically targeted that you'd like help with.

is it true that pentecostals tend to marry young? my cousin is pentecostal and he just turned 18 and he is getting married later this summer in late july. just wondering if this is typical.
I know elderly Pentecostals who have never been Married. They dedicated their bodies completely to God. So I wouldn't say that its an every single time type of thing but it happens like it does in other doctrines. As far as scriptural evidence is concerned the bible says its better to marry than to burn. If you aren't strong enough to last a few years without committing fornication and you and your significant other are having problems abstaining than I say get married or break up bc you're getting into a dangerous area. Some just find love at a young age. When you know you know :) I knew the moment I seen my life that I would spend the rest of my life with her. I didnt hesitate. We didnt date long before I asked her to marry me. Modern society has gotten away from marriage at a young age. In fact they forbid to marry which is what the bible predicted.

I agree with your other anon, that is super confusing, to say your wife does not wear only skirts implies she doesn't follow the church standards & therefore you either a) were dating somebody outside the church or b) were dating somebody not fully committed to the church. So I was a little concerned that there might be hypocrisy or something going on there. Even now you preach modesty but your wife doesn't follow it. Not at all trying to be being mean, just saying.
I understand the confusion but I thought I had made it very clear. Let me explain again.
A) I dated a woman who was fully committed to Apostolic.
B) She left me and the church
C) We worked things out
D) She is now fully committed to Apostolic
The photo on my cover was taken from the section of her being out of church. It’s still a great picture of my beautiful wife and daughter. I’m very proud of my family.
I have more respect for a person admitting that they’re wrong and correcting their mistakes than someone who refuses to see their own wrong doing and continuing in stupidity. So how would YOU define hypocrisy? And better yet how would you define repentance? Forgiveness?
What is more important, our past or our present? Which one do YOU want to be judged on?

Aren't you a member of the askapentecostal account? I've seen multiple times how they are strongly against people in church dating/marrying people out of church, and if I asked you if I should date someone out of church what would you say? So I'm just wondering how it works in your situation of being in church but your wife isn't in church (or at least all the way in church), and why you would also enforce girls asking you guys q's on here to dress modesty & not wear makeup etc?
That's a fair question. What I think you dont know is that when I married my wife she was apostolic pentecostal and then she left the church for a while. I fought for our marriage and prayed for my wife daily and nightly. I fought for her. Today she is Apostolic Pentecostal. :) I realize it seemed confusing. I apologize. The devil is fighting the home with everything he has. Everything begins in the home and individuals of the home. If prayer stops in school it had already stopped at home. If worship stops at church it had already stopped at home. The home is the foundation if the church. The principles in which they build their individual Christian life. It effects the community around it. Whether be church it school. Why attack a strong group when the devil can attack individuals piece by piece until the group falls. Its much like when a pack of wolves attack cattle. They never attack the entire herd but they'll scare the herd until the weaker ones get left behind and then they'll attack the weaker ones. Thats why the herd must stick together and the only way that happens is when each one decides to do it themselves. This is a metaphor for holiness and general Apostolic lifestyles/worship. Either way God is still on the throne and He hasn't changed. We just have to become inexorable in our prayer life and worship. Otherwise like a weaker calf we fall behind and put ourselves at risk of being devoured by the wolf. 1 Peter 5:8 KJVSBe sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
