Did you read the daevabad trilogy? They are making it into a tv show and I’m really hoping they cast the correct people.... like the amount of people who draw the main character as south Asian or fan cast a south Asian actor is alarming. Like guys the main character is Egyptian... let us have a piece of the pie too please

This "holier than thou" attitude that parts of litblr has adopted is concerning. You can't pretend that you are so above the issues people are talking about and saying people "just need to chill" and "give people a break" is so tasteless. You are undermining the struggles of people of colour and reducing it to petty drama, which it most definitely isn't. I have recently been called out for calling it "drama" when it's not, and I am so grateful to the people who opened my eyes to this problematic word choice, and I apologize deeply for ever using that word in this context. Telling people that "posting something on a website isn't gonna help" just completely brushes aside the deeper issue at hand. Just because you are apparently "too good" for tumblr doesn't mean you are exempt from being problematic, and you should be called on your racist tendencies.

Friendly (🔪) reminder that America is a continent, not a country. The country you're referring to is the United States of America. You are American, yes, but so am I, an Argentinian, and so are Peruvians, Chileans, Brazilians, Cubans, Uruguayans, Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, Colombians, Bolivians, Venezuelans. All of these are American and in fact, we are just as much as American as you are. America is so much more than the US, with so much culture and languages and history. It's not that hard to use the term 'Usamericans' or whatever other term you like, I can assure you there are a Lot. And the same goes for non-American people; if you refer to the US as America then you should learn a few things, geography for example. History for another. Latinoamérica is no longer a bunch of colonies, stop treating us as such.

hey. coming off my hiatus for ONE second to say that people need to stop using the word terrorist when y’all want to disrespect someone. this word has been used to target me and every muslim out there for our entire lives. it hits us where ever we go so do not use it. throwing around words with heavy islamophobic connotations is fucking disgusting. it’s completely insensitive and fucking terrible. in general, before you type out something, think about how that will affect someone, especially minorities. have some fucking human decency.
