Getting inspired to write is actually really easy! All you need to do is be the busiest you've ever been in your entire life and as far away from a computer as humanly possible. Hope this helps 🥰

Look, pal, when I say "fanfiction does not have the cultural reach to be able to change social perceptions of controversial topics"
what I mean is "if Game of Thrones could not manage to normalize incest, a handful of shipcest fics on AO3 with 50 kudos each sure aren't going to manage to normalize it!"
And you know that. In your heart you know it.

Getting into a new media means making a new OC - meet Skyline!
This is mostly for the G1 continuity (because that's just. the only one of the cartoons I've seen so far), but I do have altered lore for him for Transformers One. Anyways! OC lore beneath the cut. Feel free to send asks about him, I would love to yap about him.
Skyline is an archivist turned Autobot. His role usually has him archiving information (either in actual archives or in his own processors, which already hold a wealth of information) about locations, creatures, history, objects, or foes. He's a generally quiet fellow most of the time unless with those he cares for, preferring to stay quiet and focus his energy on sorting the information in his archives. He can come off as a bit condescending and judgemental, but about half the time that is an accident. He has a big heart - he's just blunt and knowledge-oriented most of the time.
His quiet personality isn't only broken by being around those he likes. Skyline can get overexcited and end up with a bit of tunnel-vision when faced with new information that he didn't know prior. This can lead to him either giving himself away, walking into a trap, or getting caught off guard by the Decepticons. For this reason he's often sent out with backup if danger is expected.
His alt-form while on Earth is a Cessna Citation X. Oftentimes when fighting, he'll either rely on partial transformation or the retractable blades that come out of his arms and the edges of his wings. He has no other armaments to speak of, but can be deadly at close range.
He specializes in recon and stealth, and can be incredibly reliable when it comes to collecting information on the Decepticons' plans. This is due to two factors.
His visor works as a kind of HUD, allowing him to quickly analyze and categorize environments, objects, and (if given enough time) enemy weaknesses. This makes him pretty dangerous if given enough time to figure everything out about a situation.
In order to get in close and figure out what the Decepticons are up to, Skyline can (at the cost of extra energy) use a type of cloaking. This doesn't completely obscure him - keen eyed foes can still spot him - but instead it works as a type of countershading (a method of camouflage in which an animal's coloration is darker on the top or upper side and lighter on the underside of the body). He can either blend into the sky, the ground, or mix the two types of color palettes to have the countershading effect.
If he can remain disguised, he can get valuable information. But if he is found out, he is at a disadvantage due to just how much extra energy using this ability cost.
#jasksfldfajffa he's too cool#He's built so neat and you ripped the transformers style SO FUCKING FAST#HOW DID YOU DO THAT#transformers#transformers oc#tf oc#oc: skyline#digital art#not my art#gonna give him a terrifying girlboss conjux

I don't feel like Orion trying to stop D-16 from killing Sentinel was because Orion felt like Sentinel deserved to live. I mean, he crashed an entire train into the guy just minutes before.
Imagine you have a chill best friend who is the voice of reason between the two of you, but he goes through a trauma that turns him into a roiling pit of rage. You keep reaching out to him and he keeps shoving you away. He is suddenly getting fusion cannon boners from beating the shit out of potential allies, and you have to beg him not to blow said ally's head off. Your friend frames this restraint as "the last time I will show mercy."
When Orion says "Don't be like Sentinel", I don't think he means "Um, have you considered that ACTUALLY this is not The Proper Way to change the government?", I think he means "You are losing yourself and it's scaring me and it's hurting you."
He was not trying to save Sentinel, he was trying to save D-16.
