I hate when fanfic writers downplay Bradley's asshole moves to make him look better than he was in canon. Because canon Bradley is a cock. No pun intended he's just genuinely a dick. A lot of the things he does is to make himself look more mature than Jake and Pete. (He's not. He lashes out at any given chance.) The first time we meet him he makes a comment about Jakes past. We learn later that he was also the one who gave Jake his callsign. It's emphasized in the script how much the daggers are starting to get annoyed by him. It gets to a point where Mickey and Reuben (who were on his side at the beginning) starts to back up Jake and Javy when they point out his speed. I think people write him that way because they want him to be like Nick. Which he's just not. The only thing they have in common is their appearance and their last name. Bradley is not Nick. He's a man who sticks by his thoughts and refuses to hear people out.
