Letter to my Love

I've always felt like it's a privilege to be with a person like you though my actions belied it, but thank you for seeing hope in me and us. I never want us to end and still, and at the end of the day, your happiness and wellbeing means more to me than anything else in this world. Whatever it is, your wishes and feelings come first to me. Always remember that, okay?

I will always have this regret that I deceived you, breaking your trust and I have to live with it for the rest of my life. I have to pay for this consequence. The consequence of my foolishness and utter lack of thought. Somehow, I feel like I'm living on borrowed time with you and your loving family, with my parents as well. Of late, I felt that way even more so, after countless nightmares. You told me not to tell you about stuff like that, thus I didn't.

I hope that you'll forgive me, that your family, doesn't think too poorly of me. I never felt worthy of being looked up to and as flattering as it was that you wished for your sister to be like me, I sure wish she would not. She's already amazing as she is and she makes a far greater role model to me than I am to her. Your brother, too, is a way better person than I am, in so many ways and he didn't deserve critique from anyone much less me.

You're spot on, in many ways I have failed. Be it with my parents (they are not proud of me, should they be? Surely not for I am not a good daughter) or relationships or even in jobs. Where exactly, have I gone right? Or did right. The only thing I was proud of before perhaps was being a good friend and even that I failed.

I love how close knitted your family is and no matter what, I am relieved that you can count on them. They're really wonderful.

I'm sorry for not being good enough for you, and as much as I want you to be free of me as I know you can do way better, but selfishly, I want you all to myself. You guided me so much, comforted and reassured me, through my fears and insecurities. I'm the biggest fool if I let you go.

life is not success. life is not grades or achievements. life is refreshing naps, drinking your favourite drink, movie night, hugging your best friend, laying on grass, funny videos, seeing your plant bloom, the days getting longer, candles, finding a piece of clothing that’s just so you, complimenting people, personal handshakes, that one song, cleansing showers, smelling flowers, cute book or coffee shops, cute prints, finishing a notebook. this is truly what life is. the smallest things.
