Update my migraine turned back into a my normal headaches on Wednesday, but I still didn’t really want to go on my laptop because I didn’t want to trigger the migraine coming back. And now I feel like I’m in the prodrome phase of another migraine. So like. Still no descriptions but don’t worry I haven’t had migraine level pain the whole time

My face is having uncontrollable spasms. Great. It hurts really, really, really bad.

I think part of why I have trouble explaining pain to the doctor is when they ask about the pain scale I always think “Well, if someone threw me down a flight of stairs right now or punched me a few times, it would definitely hurt a lot more” so I end up saying a low number. I was reading an article that said that “10” is the most commonly reported number and that is baffling to me. When I woke up from surgery with an 8" incision in my body and I could hardly even speak, I was in the most horrific pain of my life but I said “6” because I thought “Well, if you hit me in the stomach, it would be worse.”

Hey. Pretty sure there’s a post in this blog that has descriptions for a physical pain scale, and potentially a fatigue scale and a mental pain scale? Can anyone find it?

something i think about a lot in relation to cycles is that they're a kind of circuit. a loop through which a current flows. and it is vital to understand this if you're going to break them without leaving the ruined, ragged ends to bleed out into empty space like poison, or attach themselves parasitically to someone or something else in order to survive.

it does still make me insane specifically how many queer people lovingly embrace astrology. I went to a poetry workshop yesterday that was genuinely quite good but also included an option to disclose astrology designations during introductions and so many people broke out some variation of "I'm a [x] sum but I have a [y] placement and it SHOWS" girl no it doesn't. that's meaningless correlation you completely invented the causation

I love when fiction makes the audience feel guilty about their role as the audience. When something fucked up is treated as a joke but later it's recognised how fucked up it was and the audience feels guilty for finding it funny. When a character breaks the fourth wall to plead for help, and you can't do anything so you just watch. And you know that the characters pain isn't real, but they're begging for help and you're not helping because their suffering is entertainment for you
