Let's start with early phases

To start, Stu's a young man at this point in his life so he's already probably insecure

Backpacking he has be cheated on with a chick who he called his longest relationship(at a whopping two months)

And has yet to seen so much as a modicum of commitment from anyone he has dated or slept with so far.. or at least in comparison to S/O and their Ex

If you're around his age(early to mid 20's) and were a very long term relationship(I'm gonna say 5-3 years is what feels long term to me, so thats the standard I'm gonna set), it's safe to say that you likely experienced a lot of firsts with that person(hell maybe had life plans with eachother), and if you so wish maybe have been together since you were teenagers.

And it's even worse if it was just a 'bit' ago, let's say less than a year.

Thats a lot to put on this dunces head

I don't think he'd really catch on at first

Especially since this takes place early on into your relationship with him

He doesn't understand the extent of what you mean when you told him "Yeah my long term ex broke up with me not to long ago.. it was kinda messy"

Not until you start sharing details do the insecurities set in

And if the band catches wiff of this, it gets so much worse

Murdoc is absolutely evil about it, he beats down on 2D(probably making a lot of 2D's insecurities)

Hell, Murdoc'll probably try and sleep with you just because he knows your vulnerable and your dating 2d(he'll even do it in front of 2D to rub it in)

Russel will make fun of him at times as well, not as bad as Mudz or course, but it's still not great

Stu is actually horrified when you talk about the situation of how your ex dumped you

He comforts you the best he can but he's a bit intimidated by your emotions and his lack of experience in comparison

But what he really hates is hearing you reminiscing on the good times

He actually hates about hearing about how good your relationship was, even if he doesn't say it

He's not prosesive or even that jealous(well technically he is)

But he's mostly horrified because he's completely self aware that he's clueless

In almost every aspect of his life he's largely inexperienced.

He's also scared of the expectations

Like, do you want those things with him?

Does you want those things?

Does he want those things?

How does he do those things?

He's been in relationships, he's slept around, but that doesn't mean he's the greatest at either of those things

Especially if it's phase two/mid 20's age

Now he's tasted stardom, and he's learned he can have those things, and participate in them, but he doesn't necessarily need to be good at them, because he's a big singer

But you know what you want

You've had time and the experience to figure out what you want her hasn't

And let's go with S/O and Stu being in a relationship stu wants to be committed in

This fool doesn't know how

He's sloppy, his room looks like a bachelor's pad

And he's very self centered without realizing it

He has never been in a partnership before

So when S/O gives him a hurt look over not considering them in movie night, he's surprised(sorry I know this is a bad example)

He never had to ask what you wanted to watch, not that you don't like the movie, but it's about considering the other person

And 2D struggles with that

But S/O who just came out of a long term thought out relationship has the perspective of considering a partner

You two are on the opposite spectrum, and it's clear

His lack of consideration is hurtful and your over consideration is making him even more guilty

The way the tea you woke him up with tastes bitter in his mouth because your kindness is eating at him

And of course you've sat down and had conversations with him about your hurt and feeling neglected or how things can feel one sided, because that part of a healthy relationship

But the maturity kinda freaks him out

Stu was raised to be a respectable adult, but living in kong fucked up his communication skills, everyone's pasive aggressive, and there's a child here with a language barrier

Talking it out makes him feel guilty, but is much needed

It'll help him communicate his struggles with guilt from your unintentional bombarding love

And he gets better with considering you, even if it takes time and a lot more conversations

I don't think Stu is much of the person who would have the 'I could never be them insecurity

I don't think he wants to be your ex, he isn't that type of person

But the relationship you had with your ex can be a different story

Because like I touched on earlier, he doesn't even know what to expect from this relationship

He doesn't know what he wants

And hearing about what you've learned and experience from that relationship is hard

It makes him feel a bit inadequate

Like the two of you aren't on the same level

And to an extent you aren't

Once you compared him to your ex and it gave him a migraine

How 2D copes?

Smoking

A lot of smoking

A lot of migrain medication, for his stress migrains that were born from him overthinking

He's short with you and non communicative when he's really insecure

Which wither leads to him isolating himself and him breaking down crying to you or his mom

He also gets a LOT of advice from his mom mama's boy

Ultamity, he's not worried about not living up to it, all he cares about is disappointing you

He cares about how you feel

And he's worried after something like your past relationship l, being with him won't satisfy you

-Overall pretty harmless as long as you don't prolong the joke to long
