This isn't really an unpopular spamton opinion as it genuine confusion: why coke?

I'm not saying that spamton would be the pinnacle of sobriety during his big shot era (honestly I don't think anyone could handle dealing with that phone bullshit sober) but. Coke???

Is it a Hollywood thing? Is it just because of his nose??? Where did this come from????

Short joke answer: It's funny.

Long serious answer: There is an archetype of the 80s businessman being a coke addict, and this has Truth in Television (no pun intended, it's a real TvTropes article).

It might be easier to link the wikipedia page for it, but in the 70s and 80s US, cocaine became wildly popular and available among people in the US, and even became a symbol of wealth. You can find more information in this article as well.

Side note, it is interesting, and unfortunate how the image of cocaine eventually transformed from a drug for the wealthy white elite into a drug used by poor people of color...The thing about drugs is that they do not discriminate, the people using them do.

You don't have to like this headcanon, you can simply ignore it, but I think it's fitting for Spamton as he, to me, embodies the 80s/90s wealthy businessman with a tragic downfall trope so well, and cocaine would be involved with that.

My toxic trait is that I am far more interested in the socio-economic and geopolitical implications of ABO settings than the smut.

For example: I can't read any ABO AUs set in England or France because while I can suspend my disbelief far enough for a gender trinary set up, I can't suspend it enough to believe those two countries would still be distinct entities in a alternate history where Richard the Lionheart could have impregnated Philip II.

If there was a viable dynastic future with Richard, Philip would have climbed him like an oak and dragged him to the altar if he had to. It's a match that makes perfect sense from both their points of view: Philip gets Aquitaine back under French rule, the best general in Europe on his council, and a powerful check on the Angevins... then unexpectedly (after Henry the Young bites it) the entire Kingdom of England for his Capetian dynasty. Richard meanwhile gets to stick it to his father, secure Aquitaine's prosperity, and gets the leverage to start pushing for his mother's release. Then when Henry kicks the bucket Richard doesn't actually have to be King of England in anything but name: Philip can run the countries and unify the Crowns and what not while Richard runs off to go Crusading.

Plus they also like, loved each other and stuff and being able to get to be together long term instead of being torn apart by politics would have been cool. But I'm mainly obsessed with the historical and dynastic implications.

All this to say any ABO au set in England or France that doesn't have them united as a singular Anglo-Frank empire is doing it wrong.

I read a fic a few days ago I'm still thinking about. It was a porn-with-plot fic, shipping a human and a ghost who looks pretty much like a mostly featureless bedsheet ghost. I was intrigued by the smut possibilities part of it, 'cause... this guy doesn't have anything to fuck.

Anyways. It turned out, a couple chapters before the smut, the ghost and his family all got turned back to how they looked as humans.

I was annoyed once I got to the smut part and ended up exiting the fic halfway through. I was expecting weird monsterfucking! A ghost who just looks like a human isn't monsterfucking! They didn't even play with the intangible part of it!!!

Usually south park's relevancy feels very fake and surface level to me, but it's really something how trump and his base are actually, visibly much more enraged by this than they've been about any other criticism, any other show, any other enemy I've seen in the entire near-decade of his political career. Fucking South Park got to them more than the combined effort of a million other comedians, journalists, parodies, academic criticisms or protest efforts. Like it's BAD.
